No C2C or 3rd parties, please.</p> <p>Civil Design Engineer II opportunity in Pittsburgh, PA</p> <p>$80,000 - $87,000 annually</p> <p>Direct Hire/Full Time</p> <p>Hybrid work schedule (1 remote day per week; can also work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday or Monday off)</p> <p>We're looking for a motivated Civil Design Engineer II to support highway and structural engineering projects from concept through delivery. This role is ideal for an early- to mid-career civil engineer who wants hands-on design responsibility, exposure to a variety of project types, and opportunities to grow technically and professionally within a collaborative team environment.</p> <p>What you'll be doing:</p> <ul> <li>Perform highway and structural engineering design tasks with minimal supervision, including engineering calculations, cost estimates, checking, and report writing </li><li>Support steel and concrete structure design, including girders, bearings, abutments, retaining walls, and foundations </li><li>Assist with highway design elements such as geometry, right-of-way, traffic, and water resources </li><li>Participate in project site visits, project status meetings, and public meetings as needed </li><li>Serve as a Work Group Leader on portions of projects when appropriate </li><li>Provide design support for workshare efforts with other offices </li><li>Mentor and assist in developing the technical skills of Engineer I staff and draftspersons </li><li>Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Drafting teams </li><li>Demonstrate accountability and contribute to a team-oriented, professional work environment </li></ul> <p>What we're looking for:</p> <ul> <li>BS in Civil Engineering </li><li>EIT certification </li><li>Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible design experience </li><li>Working knowledge of highway and structural design codes and procedures </li><li>Experience with Bentley MicroStation and related design tools </li><li>Familiarity with software such as InRoads/OpenRoads, HCS, Synchro, Vissim, HEC-RAS, HY-8, PondPack, Bluebeam, and MathCad </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Ability to work independently while also collaborating within a supervised team structure </li></ul> <p>This is a great opportunity for an Engineer II looking to deepen technical expertise, take on greater responsibility, and grow within a stable, well-supported engineering environment.</p> <p>Interested candidates may send their resumes directly to Brandon at bgreen@blackrockres.com</p> <p>#LI-DNI</p>
