Please see the Supplemental Information section below for details!</p> <p>Work Unit:</p> <p>The Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) exists to ensure that all children receive financial and medical support from each parent through the location of each parent, the establishment of paternity and support obligations, the enforcement of those obligations, and connection to resources to assist parents in overcoming any barriers that are impeding their ability to pay child support. To do this, DCSS collaboratively provides case management tools, policy, performance, and operational assistance, and ongoing training to support counties in delivering the child support services program. </p> <p>The Colorado Central Registry exists to provide excellent support to local county Child Support Services (CSS) offices, to foster continuous improvement in the effective and efficient delivery of all CS services to families in order to enhance their ability to become or remain self-sufficient, and to develop CSS program policies, rules, procedures and regulation for statewide implementation of an effective intergovernmental CSS program. More specifically, this includes operating a central registry, which processes all incoming actions from other states and counties and assists in resolving intergovernmental issues. Duties also include providing State Parent Locator Services (SPLS) that are mandated by federal regulation and state law, and performing State Information Agent duties mandated by state law.</p> <p>Opt in below to receive text message updates on CDHS recruiting events!</p> <p>CDHSCareers</p> <p>This position is currently hybrid - 2 days in office</p> <p> Office Hours 8 am - 5 pm negotiate specific hours when hired, core hours 9 am - 3 pm and must work eight hours a day.</p> <p>Please note: These working arrangements are subject to change.</p> <p>About this Position:</p> <p>This position exists to process incoming intergovernmental referrals from other states, provide guidance and support to county staff regarding intergovernmental policies and procedures. This position reviews complex intergovernmental cases, interprets federal and state CSS rules, consults regulations and statutes to determine applicability, provides technical assistance and customer service to county and other state CSS personnel in order to ensure that intergovernmental actions are processed in compliance with Title IV-D of the Social Security Act, and responds to requests for assistance from the parties in a child support action and other stakeholders.</p> <p>Summary of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>County Program Support & Guidance </li></ul> <p>Respond to phone calls and correspondence from county CSS professionals, other states' workers, the Federal Office of Child Support Services (OCSS), and the parties to the cases requesting information on or assistance with intergovernmental cases.</p> <p>Research complex intergovernmental issues and contact appropriate county and other states' staff to resolve. Contact necessary resources for facts and, using available guidance, make appropriate recommendations to resolve problems. Respond to inquiries through written, oral, and electronic communication within the time frames mandated by federal and state rules and regulations.</p> <ul> <li>Resolve Intergovernmental Issues </li></ul> <p>Respond to phone calls and correspondence from county CSS professionals, other states' workers, the Federal Office of Child Support Services (OCSS), and the parties to the cases requesting information on or assistance with intergovernmental cases.</p> <p>Research complex intergovernmental issues and contact appropriate county and other states' staff to resolve. Contact necessary resources for facts and, using available guidance, make appropriate recommendations to resolve problems. Respond to inquiries through written, oral, and electronic communication within the time frames mandated by federal and state rules and regulations.</p> <ul> <li>Process Incoming Responding Actions </li></ul> <p>Review responding intergovernmental case filings for compliance with state and federal policies and procedures. Communicate with county and other states' staff regarding alternate methods of preparing and filing an intergovernmental action, when appropriate. Enter case information into ACSES and attempt to locate the obligor. Complete this process within federally mandated time frames.</p> <ul> <li>Other Duties as Assigned </li></ul> <p>Other duties as assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the position classification, including coverage of staff absences; completion of special projects, completion of grant or temporary assignments; representation of the Unit, Division, or Department on task forces or committees; and completion of other supervisory-designated tasks</p> <p>Important Note: Please review your application to ensure completion. Answers such as "N/A," "In Cover Letter," or "See Resume" will not be accepted.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Experience Only:</p> <ul> <li>Six (6) years of experience working in a child support services program processing child support cases. Experience may include working in intake, establishment, modification, enforcement, legal, and/or payment processing. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in working in a child support services program processing child support cases. Experience may include working in intake, establishment, modification, enforcement, legal, and/or payment processing equal to six (6) years </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience using the Automated Child Support Enforcement System (ACSES)</p> </li><li> <p>Experience using the Office of Child Support Services State User Portal </p> </li><li> <p>Experience processing intergovernmental child support cases and/or payments. </p> </li><li> <p>Relevant years of State service should be considered as a preferred qualification to be used to determine the top candidates on the referral list.
