<p>The Coax Splicer is responsible for performing high-quality coaxial cable splicing, maintenance, and repair to support cable television, internet, and telecommunications networks. This role ensures signal integrity, system reliability, and compliance with company and customer specifications while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality standards.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Perform coax splicing, activation, and maintenance on aerial and underground plant</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare and splice hardline and coaxial cable per company and customer specifications</p> </li><li> <p>Install, replace, and repair connectors, taps, splitters, and related components</p> </li><li> <p>Test and balance RF levels to ensure optimal signal performance</p> </li><li> <p>Troubleshoot signal issues, ingress/egress, and service outages</p> </li><li> <p>Read and interpret prints, maps, and system documentation</p> </li><li> <p>Perform strand mapping and documentation as required</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used</p> </li><li> <p>Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and traffic control</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in daily safety meetings and job briefings</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain company tools, vehicles, and test equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with construction and plant maintenance tasks as needed</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prior experience as a Coax Splicer in cable or telecom environments</p> </li><li> <p>Strong understanding of RF systems and coaxial plant</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with aerial and underground splicing</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to read prints, system maps, and work orders</p> </li><li> <p>Valid driver's license</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lift 75-100 lbs and perform physical job duties</p> </li><li> <p>Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience with Comcast, Spectrum, Cox, or similar MSO systems</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of sweep and balance procedures</p> </li><li> <p>OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification</p> </li><li> <p>Bucket truck experience</p> </li><li> <p>Fiber familiarity (hybrid fiber/coax environments)</p> </li></ul>
