<p>Division:Eskenazi Health</p> <p>Sub-Division: SEMHC</p> <p>Req ID: 22080</p> <p>Schedule: Full Time</p> <p>Shift: Days</p> <p>Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.</p> <p>FLSA Status</p> <p>Exempt</p> <p>About the Residential Programs at Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center</p> <p>Residential Services at Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center ("Sandra Eskenazi MHC") consists of three locations which includes a group home, transitional housing, and semi-independent living apartment building for Sandra Eskenazi MHC clients. Combined, these residential programs support Sandra Eskenazi MHC clients by providing housing and services for up to 75 residents. Across the residential sites, our team members have extensive experience at these sites and work collaboratively with a natural rhythm amongst themselves and with Sandra Eskenazi MHC outpatient teams to meet client needs.</p> <p>Residential clients are adults, ages 18 and older, with a primary diagnosis of a serious mental illness and may have co-occurring substance use disorders.</p> <p>Where You Fit In</p> <p>The SEMHC Manager manages a team of leaders who supervise the day-to-day activities and direct care team members. The Manager plays a critical role in the development and oversight of all three residential programs while ensuring effective employee development, positive client outcomes, and a safe living environment that our clients are proud to call home.</p> <p>The manager ensures team cohesion and an environment that tackles challenges together with ease and momentum in a program that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Models Eskenazi Health values. </li><li>Embraces, understands, and operates under the Recovery Model, including AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) and the spirit of motivational interviewing </li><li>Manages and coordinates day to day activities of service areas and teams </li><li>Continually assesses efficiency of programs and makes needed adjustments to ensure operational success </li><li>Oversees personnel from multiple disciplines </li><li>Works with the team in setting goals, and makes recommendations regarding additions to program and/or reallocation of staffing resources </li><li>Endorses and models a strengths-based, community centered model of care </li><li>Provides administrative and/or clinical supervision to employees </li><li>Leads consumer satisfaction and performance improvement initiatives </li><li>Establishes quality/outcome indicators for programs and regularly assesses progress, reporting outcomes to the Leadership Team </li><li>Establishes, monitors and manages the budget for area of responsibility </li><li>Supplies financial reporting data to finance staff in a timely manner (forecasts, variance reports etc.) </li><li>Ensures that client care follows established best practices </li><li>Evaluates personnel and ensures professional development initiatives </li><li>Makes recommendations and participates in the process of hiring, transfers, personnel actions and terminations </li><li>Monitors all facilities and programs associated with the manager, assuring that their operation meets all regulatory requirements </li><li>Manages all contracts, grants and service agreements, fulfilling any internal or external reporting requirements. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <p>Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Advanced knowledge of behavioral health </li><li>Advanced knowledge of substance use disorder and/or co-occurring disorders </li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology appropriate for clinical program </li><li>Knowledge of client/patient rights and responsibilities </li><li>Knowledge of current best practices and evidence-based practices for service areas </li><li>Must meet all population-specific competencies for role and service areas </li><li>Understanding of Joint Commission, Division of Mental Health and Addiction, and other regulatory requirements </li><li>Inpatient Services Only: Must demonstrate competence to participate in interdisciplinary formulation of individual care plans and to direct, monitor, and evaluate the provision of nursing care </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in technology and information systems, and applications pertinent to service areas </li><li>Extract, analyze and interpret data </li><li>Communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal communications </li><li>Advanced supervision and team building skills </li><li>Advanced problem solving skills </li><li>Efficient critical thinking and problem-solving skills </li></ul> <p>Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Teach, support and mentor others based upon others' learning needs and styles </li><li>Use communication appropriate to the audience </li><li>Develop, implement, and drive plans in service areas and as assigned </li><li>Perform safety interventions such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and physical safety interventions required for service areas </li><li>Provide hands-on client care </li><li>Lift a minimum of 15 lbs </li><li>Work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team </li><li>Perform as an agent of change and lead team cohesively through change </li><li>Respond to customer satisfaction concerns in an effective manner </li><li>Manage multiple priorities and tasks in a high stress environment </li><li>Identify, engage and establish effective partnerships with both internal departments and external agencies </li><li>Apply UR/UM data to client care decisions, and to lead other staff in doing so </li></ul> <p>Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center's primary mission is to serve individuals with serious mental illness and chronic addiction as well as seriously emotionally disturbed children and their families.
