<p>We are looking for Camp Counselors to supervise approximately 25 campers at Weston Field, ages 8-12 and make sure they learn and have fun from July 7, 2025 through August 1, 2025.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Follow the planned activities and work in tandem with the Scranton Police Department overseeing classroom and outdoor activities or sports. </li><li>Effectively developing a positive rapport with campers and parents </li><li>Encouraging campers to help support their social and emotional growth </li><li>Motivating campers with effective communication </li><li>Educate campers through games and explorations. </li><li>Escort and oversee children when they go off site for any activities. </li><li>Set up and maintain any equipment </li><li>Appropriately address student behavioral issues and other challenges that may arise in order to maintain a safe environment and a sense of calm in such situations </li><li>Knowing and adhering to site specific safety standards </li><li>Maintaining a clean and safe work environment and notifying the supervisor of any hazardous issues </li><li>Performing other projects, initiatives, and other duties as needed and assigned </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>18 years of age or older </li><li>High School Diploma (Bachelor's degree Preferred) </li><li>Must be available all four weeks of camp </li><li>Proven experience as Camp Counselor, teacher, or similar role working with children. </li><li>Familiarity with summer camp activities, challenges. </li><li>Patient, reliable and flexible if weather impacts outdoor activities </li><li>Organizational and communication skills </li><li>A love for children </li><li>Energetic and positive personality </li><li>Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to follow sports activities) </li><li>First aid- and CPR-certified preferred </li><li>Complete Child abuse clearances and background checks </li><li>Reliable transportation </li></ul>
