<p>EASTCONN's Food Services department was created in 2012 to meet our external and internal customers' demand for exceptional food services. Backed by our experienced Food Service Coordinator, Courtney Haines, EASTCONN is able to provide a wide array of catering services, a successful National School Lunch Program, a School Breakfast Program and an After-School Snack Program and provide the districts with necessary supports for their food service programs.</p> <p>To learn more about our program, click here.</p> <p>Job Title: Food Service/Cafeteria Worker</p> <p>Hours: Part-Time</p> <p>Department: EASTCONN Food Services at Sterling Community School</p> <p>Reports to: Director of Food Services</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>The job of the Food Service Worker was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the food service activities with specific responsibilities for preparing and serving food items to students and/or school personnel, operating the cash registers and maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>Performs a variety of tasks concerned with the preparation and serving of foods and beverages</p> <p>Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware</p> <p>Washes, peels, scrapes, and cuts vegetables and fruits</p> <p>Prepare a variety of foods according to supervisors' instructions, following approved NSLP Guidelines</p> <p>Dishes out portions of foods on trays or plates</p> <p>Cleans kitchen equipment, pots and pans, counters, and tables</p> <p>Sweeps and mops floors</p> <p>Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage</p> <p>Package take-out foods and/or serve food to students</p> <p>Portion and wrap the food, or place it directly on trays for service to students</p> <p>Place food trays over food warmers for immediate service, or store them in refrigerated storage cabinets</p> <p>Inform supervisors when supplies are getting low or equipment is not working properly</p> <p>Operate P.O.S. computer , including completing credit card transactions and making accurate change</p> <p>Required for appointment:</p> <p>EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years Food Service experience.
