<p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Michiana Christian Academy (MCA), a Christ-centered K-8 private school, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Middle School Math and Science Teacher to join our team. This full-time role serves both a combined 6th/7th grade class and a separate 8th grade class, and is responsible for delivering math and science instruction in a supportive, faith-based environment.</p> <p>MCA utilizes Ready Math for core-instruction math and i-Ready for differentiated math instruction, and Purposeful Design curriculum for science. The school is supported by a team that includes a math and reading interventionist, a student mentor, and a part-time special education teacher-ensuring a holistic and collaborative approach to student growth.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teach math and science to students in grades 6-8, using Ready Math, i-Ready, and Purposeful Design curricula. </li><li>Develop and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to varied learning needs within a small-class setting. </li><li>Collaborate with support staff including interventionists and special education personnel to meet individual student goals. </li><li>Foster a Christ-centered classroom culture focused on academic excellence, curiosity, and character development. </li><li>Assess and track student progress through both formative and summative assessments; use data to adjust instruction. </li><li>Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities. </li><li>Participate in school-wide events and ongoing professional development opportunities. </li><li>Integrate Biblical truth throughout academic content and classroom interactions. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Education or related field </li><li>Valid Indiana teaching certification with middle school math and/or science endorsement </li><li>Experience teaching in grades 6-8, particularly in small or combined classroom settings </li><li>Familiarity with or willingness to be trained in Ready Math, i-Ready, and Purposeful Design curriculum </li><li>Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills </li><li>Commitment to Christian education and spiritual discipleship in the classroom </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with multi-grade classrooms </li><li>Experience in private or faith-based schools </li><li>Understanding of or experience working with intervention teams or student support services </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Small class sizes and supportive teaching environment </li><li>Work as part of a faith-driven and student-focused school team </li><li>Opportunities for spiritual and professional growth </li><li>Monthly $100 stipend to offset cost of health insurance purchased through Marketplace </li><li>Paid time off </li></ul>
