<p>Position Title: Assistant Professor - Master of Science in Nursing - Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program & Program Director</p> <p>Position Requirements: Candidate is expected to teach 24 credit hours per academic year in addition to other responsibilities.</p> <p>Posting Date: June 23, 2025</p> <p>Closing Date: Open Until Filled</p> <p>Job Category: Assistant Professor</p> <p>Position Details: 10-month, full-time appointment in the Jeanette C. Rudy School of Nursing and Health Professions. Teaching to include a variety of online and/or hybrid courses in the MSN program. In addition to teaching, the candidate will be expected to participate in scholarly and university & community service.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Doctorate degree (DNP or PhD) from a regionally or nationally accredited institution. </li><li>Current Tennessee or compact RN license. </li><li>Current Tennessee or compact APRN license in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level. </li><li>Strong leadership skills in developing, evaluating, and marketing graduate programs. </li><li>Knowledge and skills with software applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. </li><li>Proficiency in using instructional technologies to teach hybrid and/or distance learning (online) courses. </li><li>Demonstrate responsibility for curriculum development and instruction. </li><li>Understanding of and willingness to teach competencies required for specific courses. </li><li>Excellence in teaching and facilitating the learning process for students. </li><li>Applying diverse instructional strategies with emphasis in developing and delivering online courses. </li><li>Excellent oral, written, and listening skills. </li><li>Assign and update grades for courses in a timely fashion. </li><li>Complete course assessment documentation upon course conclusion. </li><li>Willingness to work in an inter-disciplinary capacity with other majors with the School of Nursing & Health Professions. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct program, course, and student outcomes assessments. </li><li>Advise and mentor students. </li><li>Plan, implement, and evaluate course quality and academic integrity. </li><li>Lead accreditation review the program of study. </li><li>Evaluate and mentor program faculty. </li><li>Develop curricula in order to maintain program relevance. </li><li>Marketing and recruiting for the graduate program. </li><li>Participate in scholarly and service commitments in ways that promotes the Missions of Cumberland and the Rudy School of Nursing & Health Professions. </li></ul> <p>Application Requirements: An electronic version of your cover letter, curriculum vitae, unofficial undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and contact information for three (3) references is required.</p>
