We are an equal opportunity employer; no information obtained during the recruitment/selection process is intended for any discriminatory purposes.</p> <p>Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule</p> <p>Grade: 114</p> <p>Salary: $1,241- $1,629 Biweekly</p> <p>Department: Solid Waste- Refuse Collection</p> <p>E-mail: joannas@cctexas.com</p> <p>ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non-rotating work week, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with mandatory overtime as required, including weekends and holidays.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Provide refuse and recycling collection services by driving an automated or rear loader vehicle on assigned routes throughout the city. Deliver and unload collected material at transfer station, landfill, and recycling facility. Supervise assigned crew by providing instruction, guidance, and monitoring their work on assigned routes. Maintain vehicle by performing pre-and -post-trip inspections and making minor repairs or referring for needed mechanic work. Provide excellent customer service by interacting courteously with customers and initiating proper action to resolve problems. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Position requires less than High School Diploma or GED with minimum of two (2) years of experience. Must be able to obtain GED within one year of hire. A valid Commercial B driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to attain a valid Texas Commercial B driver's license within 90 days of hire.</p> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Basis of Rating</p> <p>Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.</p> <p>Closing Statement</p> <p>Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.</p> <p>Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.</p> <p>In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the general public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.</p> <p>This position is classified as "Safety Sensitive".
