<p>Overview 1932 Capital Management, Inc. is a single-family office ("FO") that provides private wealth management and financial services to a family that runs one of the largest privately owned 3rd party logistics companies in North America. The FO's services are bespoke and demand the highest levels of discretion and attention to detail. The FO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Investment Manager, Marketable Securities & Funds to join our team as the Investment Manager, Marketable Securities & Funds. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the marketable portfolios and fund investments of the family office. The Investment Manager will report directly to the President of the FO and will be in frequent direct contact with the Family. The FO is continually evolving, providing a great opportunity for someone that likes taking on new challenges, creating new processes and procedures, and prefers a dynamic work environment. Responsibilities Investment Strategy & Asset Allocation Develop customized asset allocations tailored to each individual or entity's objectives, risk tolerance, liquidity needs, and time horizon. Collaborate with 3rd party investment consultants to review and periodically update strategic sub-class allocations. Look for tactical asset allocation opportunities based on market conditions. Portfolio Construction Construct portfolios, based on target asset allocations, using SMAs, ETFs, mutual funds, and other liquid instruments. Collaborate with and leverage 3rd party investment consultants for investment manager and vehicle selection. Seek out new strategies and managers that offer unique value propositions. Review manager historical performance and diligence conducted by 3rd party investment consultants. Customize portfolios to reflect entity-specific constraints (account/fund minimums, legal, bank covenants, tax, etc.). Review and coordinate execution of agreements with investment managers, including negotiating side letters where applicable. Build and maintain relationships with managers. Implement the portfolio by executing trades, coordinating account openings, and transferring funds. Portfolio Management Rebalance portfolios periodically to maintain target allocations based on performance results and changes in assets available, factoring in tax effects. Manage cash and liquidity positions across portfolios to cover cash needs, including capital calls and personal spending. Project out proper pacing of commitments to achieve diversification goals and portfolio targets. For Fund investments, review quarterly updates and account statements from funds to ensure funds are on track. Collaborate with the Private Investment team to ensure sufficient cash is available. Performance Measurement & Reporting Collaborate with the Accounting and Reporting Team on customized reporting of portfolio performance vs. benchmarks. Monitor portfolio risk exposures (sector, geographic, credit, duration, etc.), conduct stress testing and scenario analysis. Governance & Investment Committee Support Prepare materials for the quarterly 1932 Investment Committee meetings. Present performance updates, proposed allocation changes, and new strategies. Maintain and update investment policy statements IPS for each portfolio. Family/Stakeholder Engagement Meet regularly with family members and entity stakeholders to review portfolio goals, performance, and changes. Tailor communication styles based on preferences of each stakeholder. Educate family members on investment principles when needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification (MBA or CFA) preferred. Proven experience (5+ years) in an investment advisory or management role, including: Experience with large traditional portfolios consisting of marketable securities and related asset classes. Experience with investing in and evaluating alternative investment funds, including private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, and private credit. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to perform in-depth financial analysis and due diligence. Experience training and supervising analysts and staff, preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with external partners. In-depth knowledge of financial markets and investment strategies. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The position will be located at the FO's office in Camden, NJ. The role will require 4 days on-site with 1 remote flex day. The role will require occasional travel. We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $125,000.00 - $175,000.00. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 3%.
