S/he will respond to patients in a timely manner. S/he will provide exceptional customer service, including courteous, helpful, accurate, and proactive communication and problem-solving for patients to ensure that their health care is provided in the most effective and timely manner possible</p> <p>Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:</p> <p>Pay Range:</p> <p>$24.13 - $28.96 - $33.79</p> <p>Essential Functions and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Answers multiple phone calls; responding to customer requests including, and not limited to cross-departmental appointment scheduling, screening and routing calls, takes messages and forward as appropriate </li><li>Responsible in calling Insurance/Payers to check for eligibilities and acquiring prior authorizations for scheduled services </li><li>Communicate with providers regarding scheduling preferences, and ability to respond to urgent patient needs in accordance with established departmental protocol </li><li>Provide doctor-patient support using reference documents and online knowledge base tool </li><li>Participates actively in the achievement of organizational and departmental goals </li><li>Carry out various administrative tasks, including maintaining information and paging directory databases, and processing internal forms </li><li>Utilize all functionality of the telephone system and electronic medical records system in performing assigned job tasks </li><li>Resolve patient problems of a limited scope and complexity. </li><li>Observes confidentiality and decorum in conversation and behavior. </li><li>*If MA qualified, may perform medical assistant duties if needed. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required. </li><li>Completion of business school or related training, including computer courses preferred. </li><li>Medical Assistant certification preferred. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>One (1) years of progressive responsibility and directly related work experience. </li><li>Experience with, and proficiency in, electronic medical records: Use of EPIC software a plus. </li><li>Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office. </li><li>Bi-lingual in Spanish desired. </li></ul> <p>Accommodation:</p> <p>Qualified applicants with disabilities may request reasonable accommodation during the application process by contacting Human Resources at 415-925-7040 or TalentAcquisition@mymarinhealth.org.</p> <p>C.A.R.E.S. Individual pay is set by skills, experience, qualifications, and internal/market equity, consistent with MarinHealth's compensation philosophy.
