<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Greenwich Public Schools is seeking three full-time K-12 special education teachers. Particular site locations have not yet been determined.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Special Education Teacher develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. Evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objectives, follows state-mandated due process procedures and functions as the IEP Case Manager to assigned students.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Complete triennial evaluations for individual students using a variety of assessment methods </li><li>Participate as a member of the Planning and Placement Team (PPT) </li><li>Develop and implement an annual Individualized Education Program (IEP) in developing the Present Levels of Educational Performance, appropriate goals, and objectives </li><li>Employ various teaching strategies, methods, and principles of learning to assist students in achieving their IEP goals </li><li>Effectively manage the classroom and student behavior </li><li>Collaborate and consult with educational professionals and community service providers </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Current CT Special Education Teacher certification, or certifiability, is required (e.g., #065) </li><li>Experience is preferred but not required </li><li>Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of special education </li></ul> <p>Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
