<p>WFTV, the ABC affiliate in Orlando Florida is seeking a part-time News Editor to join the Eyewitness News team. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, someone with a strong television news/production background who functions well under the pressures of a live news environment. This candidate must be willing to work flexible hours including mornings, weekends, and holidays.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with show producers and other station staff to edit compelling local and national news stories. </li><li>Have a working knowledge and understand of non-linear editing techniques using Avid Media Composer. </li><li>Operate various technical systems including but not limited to non-linear editing equipment. </li><li>Help perform clean up and maintenance of Avid system storage. </li><li>Monitor and traffic content to be shared on multiple platforms as well as with other CMG properties. </li><li>Identify issues with incoming content, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions. </li><li>Manage all assigned tasks in a dynamic news environment under tight deadlines. </li><li>Be willing to work all shifts scheduled, including mornings, weekends, and holidays. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li><li>Must adhere to all station policies. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to edit video using a Non-linear editing system (Avid Media Composer a plus). </li><li>Working knowledge of Windows based programs and the ability to learn other web-based programs. </li><li>Ability to sit and work at a computer workstation for extended periods. </li></ul> <p>About Cox Media Group</p> <p>CMG Media Corporation (d/b/a Cox Media Group) is an industry-leading media company with unparalleled brands, award-winning content, and exceptional team members.
