As a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, we provide leading-edge treatment for stroke recovery. This is a Clinical Expert that practices in accordance with evidenced-based nursing standards and practices; serves as leader and role model to others; demonstrates advanced clinical skills in caring for complex critically ill patients. Note: Incumbents in this job classification are expected to accept assignments to meet Critical Care needs in other Covenant Health facilities as needed.</p> <p>Recruiter: Lacey Spoon || apply@covhlth.com</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care/nursing home care. </li><li>Assesses needs of patient and family. </li><li>Develops and initiates plan of care, involving patient and family. </li><li>Consistently recommends and executes evidence based bundles, protocols, and procedural interventions to promote patient safety and reduction of harm events. </li><li>Evaluates plan of care. </li><li>Clinical expertise and knowledge is such that individual can resolve complex patient/management/ physician problems without supervision. </li><li>Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served. </li><li>Formally trained and acts as Coach for new employees/students; reviews clinical performance of preceptee with unit leader or clinical instructor. </li><li>Provides six contact hours of educational activities, excluding basic patient education. </li><li>Contributes to development and evaluation of unit orientation program. </li><li>Serves as resource to peers and supervises non licensed care givers. Takes initiative to intervene to improve patient care and safety as needed. </li><li>Functions as role model to peers by cross training to other departments and serving as resource person. </li><li>Member of established committee or process improvement team with 75% participation in meetings. </li><li>Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Education:</p> <p>None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.</p> <p>Minimum Experience:</p> <p>Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in an Intensive/Critical Care setting.</p> <p>Licensure Requirement:</p> <p>Must have and maintain Tennessee State Registered Nurse licensure and Critical Care Certification (CCRN or equivalent). CPR required.</p>
