<p>MRMC Anesthesia is seeking a Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Assistant Professor!</p> <p>This position works closely with the Florence campus faculty to coordinate and ensure that students in the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program (DNAP) receive the clinical education and experience required for certification and licensure.</p> <p>Location: McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence Campus</p> <p>Work Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week, 8-hour shifts)</p> <p>In coordination with the Program Director and Faculty assure that matriculants are provided with didactic and clinical education to complete the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program from the USC School of Medicine and to be eligible to write the National Certification Exam from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.</p> <ul> <li>All duties pertain to students on the Florence campus. </li><li>Coordinate clinical activities for all students. </li><li>Maintain and review all student clinical evaluations (daily, rotational, site…). </li><li>Coordinate student daily and rotational assignments to ensure students are being assigned to appropriate cases for their level in the program. </li><li>Provide summative evaluations, on all students of the Florence campus, to the Program and Assistant Program Directors each semester. </li><li>Council students on clinical performance. </li><li>Create and monitor all student clinical schedules (daily, monthly, yearly) ensuring all program requirements are being met. </li><li>Manage/Supervise all simulations, in coordination with the Assistant Program Director on the Florence campus, according to the simulation schedule set forth by the DNAP curriculum. </li><li>Assist in providing instruction to the students of the nurse anesthesia program via didactic and clinical areas. </li><li>Assist/Co-Direct in Course Direction of the Clinical Courses, in coordination with the Columbia campus. </li><li>Work together with the Program Director and Assistant Program Directors to ensure that the program complies with the Standards and Guidelines of Nurse Anesthesia Programs. </li><li>Coordinate clinical activities, student issues…with the various site clinical coordinators. </li><li>Participate in the recruiting, interviewing and the selection process for candidates of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Graduate Program in Nurse Anesthesia. </li><li>Works together with the Program Director and Assistant Program Directors to plan, develop and implement clinical courses that comply with the Standards and Guidelines of Nurse Anesthesia Programs and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Graduate School. </li><li>Assist in the assessment and improvement of the department's performance by monitoring performance through data, analyzing data, and implementing performance improvement plans (in coordination with the Program Director or their designee). </li><li>Other activities as indicated by the Program Director or Assistant Program Directors as it relates to clinical coordination and management of student registered nurse anesthetists at the primary training site and enrichment sites. </li></ul> <p>McLeod Regional Medical Center CRNA Role:</p> <ul> <li>Administers general, regional and monitored anesthesia care for any scheduled, urgent and emergent surgeries. </li><li>Visits patients prior to surgery to obtain pre-operative patient history. </li><li>Explain anesthesia plans, anesthesia care team and visits patients post operatively. </li><li>Maximizes quality of patient care using current techniques, use of new agent, drugs and equipment. </li><li>Perform all types of anesthesia: General, Regional, TIVA </li><li>Share services provided by the CRNA staff anesthetists to provide continuous anesthesia related services 24 hours a day </li><li>Effectively manages patient's care after surgical procedure to ensure safety in transit to post-operative care unit or other critical care unit as deemed appropriate by anesthesia/surgeon team </li><li>Responds to calls within the Medical Center for patient care relative to airway maintenance and life support procedures. </li><li>Demonstrates professionalism and integrity within the Anesthesia department. </li></ul> <p>Skills Required</p> <ul> <li>Must hold a valid APRN-CRNA license and have graduated from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program. </li><li>Doctoral degree (preferred) or willingness to obtain. </li><li>Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in anesthesia is required. </li><li>Ability to effectively manage student clinical education and work in a collaborative academic and clinical environment. </li><li>Ideal Candidate </li><li>The ideal candidate should have a strong clinical background and a passion for educating the next generation of Nurse Anesthetists. </li><li>They should be a skilled communicator, detail-oriented, and able to provide effective mentorship and guidance to students. </li><li>Experience Required </li><li>Minimum of 2 years of clinical anesthesia experience. </li><li>Doctoral level education is preferred, or
