<p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>The Product Validation Commercial Test Planning & Execution leader will lead test system designs and operations for Commercial business. This role reports to the Product Validation General Manger and is responsible for test system designs and operations for Commercial products and services in support of validation, certification, and field investigations</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead the management, execution, and financial oversight of Product Validation Programs for Commercial </li><li>Ensure customer commits are met, and tests are conducted safely, within specifications, on schedule and within budget </li><li>Establish / modify / monitor overall engineering program requirements, timing, and resources of section and support groups to meet / exceed business objectives and goals. </li><li>Manage a team of senior professionals as well as 100+ nonexempt personnel to support 24/7/365 operations. </li><li>Responsible for execution of development assembly builds, conducting laboratory and developmental engine testing and acquiring data to support the design and validation of components and engines. </li><li>Provide technical direction and leadership for test design and tollgate phases (pre-NPI, NPI, and fielded) for identified programs </li><li>Partner with Product Validation, Chief Engineers and Operation personnel to address top safety concerns. </li><li>Partner with design board(s) to develop TRL/MRL technology roadmaps. </li><li>Lead preventative maintenance plan activities for test facilities. Partner with Maintenance leadership on all PM initiatives and shared metrics. </li><li>Identify, assess, prioritize, and pursue new business growth opportunities. Design and implement an agreement and/or deal structure as appropriate. </li><li>Effectively communicate technical and financial aspects of section activities vertically and horizontally in the organization </li><li>Ensure positive actions are taken to encourage growth, technical development, and improved interpersonal skills. </li><li>Place a strong focus on employee and union relations and take proactive measures to promote growth, technical development, and enhanced interpersonal skills </li><li>Overseeing the deployment and integration of FLIGHT DECK's ten core fundamentals ensuring a standard approach across responsible functions. </li><li>Ensure compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university </li><li>8 years of technical leadership experience </li><li>Ability to travel up to 25% </li></ul> <p>Desired Characteristics:</p> <ul> <li>Engineering master's degree </li><li>Hardware and Systems Engineering experience. </li><li>Previous section leadership experience or significant experience in test operations </li><li>Familiarity with Test, Engineering, Supply Chain and Sourcing processes </li><li>Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance </li><li>Lean and or Six Sigma experience </li><li>Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and proven ability to inspire excellence and stimulate change. </li><li>Work collaboratively across product lines and across disciplines and organizations. </li><li>Prior experience with a focus on managing technical programs and designing and developing new products related to solving product issues. </li><li>Clear, strategic, and critical thinker; proven experience in translating strategies into actionable plans </li></ul> <p>In addition, you will:</p> <p>Maintain a safe working environment throughout all Product Validation. Partner with site EHS in all metrics and meet site and organization safety goals.</p> <p>Shape and drive culture including safety mindset … understanding of potential hazards as well as defenses in place to mitigate risks</p> <p>This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
