<p>Summary</p> <p>Manages a caseload of approximately 70 SSS participants (first-generation, low-income, and/or disabled college students). Delivers required and permissible program services to participants through holistic, individual advising, college success courses, and group workshops. Recruits, trains, and supervises StormConnect Bridge Program Teaching Assistant.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Promote student development, learning, advocacy, and success by providing academic, holistic, and developmental advising to SSS participants (70% annually) </li><li>Course selection assistance and graduation planning </li><li>FAFSA completion assistance and Federal Student Financial Aid information/education </li><li>Financial literacy counseling and education </li><li>Graduate school exploration and admissions </li><li>Individualized personal, career, and academic counseling and advising </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Academic success skills/strategies/habits </li></ol> <ul> <li>Assist with planning, development, implementation, and delivery of all SSS programs, services, and events (10% annually) </li><li>Maintain accurate and updated student data, records, and files (10% annually) </li><li>Recruit, train, and supervise StormConnect Bridge Program Teaching Assistant (3% annually) </li><li>Support the department's academic support initiatives, including tutoring, teaching/developing curriculum for SSS courses (ENG 195, cohort courses) (5% annually) </li><li>Other responsibilities as assigned by program director (2% annually) </li></ul> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree required in education related fields, higher education administration, guidance, or counseling (other fields considered with relevant experience) </li><li>English teaching credentials </li><li>2+ years professional experience in education/teaching </li><li>Ability to understand and meet deadlines while working in a multi-task-oriented environment </li><li>Ability to maintain effective working relationships </li><li>Interpersonal skills requiring above ordinary courtesy and tact are necessary to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders </li><li>Ability to be respectful and safeguard the confidentiality and privacy of student and personnel information </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize a multi-system environment (utilizing Colleague, Excel and Microsoft Word) </li><li>Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Work experience in higher education </li><li>Experience with: TRIO/college access programs, supporting underserved populations, personnel supervision, academic advising, curriculum design </li><li>Succeeded in overcoming the challenges faced by students in the target population </li><li>Experience with customer relations management (CRM) systems (Ex: Colleague) </li><li>Lived experience consistent with TRIO student population (first-generation, low-income, or disabled) </li><li>Knowledge of collegiate academic and financial assistance procedures </li></ul> <p>Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
