<p>Job Summary:</p> <ul> <li>This position will manage land development, residential, industrial, retail, mixed-use, healthcare, educational and recreational project design teams and coordinate technical tasks including, but not limited to: conceptual site layout, utility design; roadway design; site grading design; storm drain design; storm water management design; water and sanitary sewer main design; soil erosion and sedimentation control design; floodplain studies; permitting and entitlement support; preparation of engineer's opinions of probable cost; preparation of proposals; and invoicing for engineering services. </li></ul> <p>Accountability and Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinates production of final construction drawings and specifications </li><li>Prepares and reviews engineer's opinions of probable cost </li><li>Coordinates permits and approvals for applicable municipal agencies </li><li>Prepares and reviews design calculations </li><li>Prepares proposals for engineering services </li><li>Ensures proposal protocol is followed </li><li>Ensures timesheets are submitted on time </li><li>Delegates specific project components to Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Staff Engineers for completion </li><li>Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects </li><li>Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects for self, team members, and subordinates </li><li>Maintains a good relationship with clients </li><li>Participates in business development activities including: maintaining and expanding existing clients, and increasing service offerings as well as identifying new business opportunities </li><li>Professionally represents the firm at client & municipal meetings/hearings </li><li>Prepares and monitors project budgets, billing, and assists with A/R </li><li>Keeps supervisor informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services </li><li>Provides an accurate accounting of time spent on projects with descriptions for each time entry on a weekly basis </li><li>Mentors and assists with training of Project Engineers and Staff Engineers </li><li>Assists with the evaluation and development of engineering staff </li></ul> <p>Required Certificates, Licenses, Registration:</p> <ul> <li>PE license required. </li><li>Valid driver's license. </li></ul> <p>Qualification Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Registered professional engineer with ten years design experience in residential, commercial, or industrial land development projects. </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university </li></ul> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent oral and technical written communication skills for client contact </li><li>Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines </li><li>Ability to work independently and part of a team </li><li>Ability to organize and manage multiple projects </li><li>Ability to design/engineer moderately difficult engineering projects </li><li>Ability to make independent decisions within a general framework </li><li>Available to work nights and weekends to complete a project as necessary </li><li>Proficient in MS Office </li><li>Must be fluent in the English language </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>The Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
