Be on their team. </li><li>Assesses patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis. </li><li>Implements and monitors patient care plan and equipment. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition. Performs advanced respiratory care modalities. </li><li>Evaluates respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome. </li><li>Educates the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs. </li><li>Responds to emergency resuscitation team code. </li></ul> <p>ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared. </li><li>Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes. </li><li>Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes. </li><li>Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year. </li><li>Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department. </li><li>Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self. </li><li>Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance. </li><li>Complies with established organization and department policies. </li><li>Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required. </li></ul> <p>Commitment to Beacon's six-point Operating System, referred to as The Beacon Way:</p> <ul> <li>Leverage innovation everywhere. </li><li>Cultivate human talent. </li><li>Embrace performance improvement. </li><li>Build greatness through accountability. </li><li>Use information to improve and advance. </li><li>Communicate clearly and continuously. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. </li></ul> <p>Licensure / Certification / Registration:</p> <ul> <li>Advanced Life Support obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. </li><li>BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. </li><li>Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. </li><li>Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 9 Months (270 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. </li><li>Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. </li><li>Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Works in a clinical environment. </li><li>Possible walking and standing for long periods of time. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position. </li></ul>
