<p>The Manger - Clinical has 24-hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in a designated unit. This position has authority to make decisions regarding patient care, human resource, and financial management. This position is responsible for the daily operations of the units. This individual in this role will demonstrate superior communication skills with all internal and external customers and exhibits a high degree of integrity, character, and sound judgment.</p> <p>Assists the divisional director in development, implementation and evaluation of ongoing service programs that assure quality nursing and patient care consistent with hospital mission. Monitors/maintains unit compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policy for patient services, and environmental and personnel safety. Oversees quality improvement program which monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care. Maintains current license and knowledge of nursing care requirements for all patients on the unit. Assesses need for personal growth and development and takes the initiative in seeking opportunities to meet this need. Works collaboratively with the Educator(s) to ensure all clinical competencies are met. Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow through and communication. Fosters a service which is consistent with the patient care beliefs and shared management philosophy of the department. Consults with patients/families through primary nurse request, direct family request, and/or direct assessment of patient/family response to hospitalization. Assesses patient/significant other survey responses regarding nursing care and services. Responsible for ongoing development of staff and unit specific patient care programs. Responsible for effective and efficient fiscal management of department operations to ensure proper utilization of organizational and financial resources. Is responsible for department's operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards. Manage team members which include orientation, development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates their performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends in-service education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards. Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization. May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.</p> <p>Registered Nurse Licensed BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) ACLS Provider (ACLS) National Institutes Of Health Stroke Scale (NIH)</p>
