Description</p> <p>Facilities Events & Systems Manager Job Description</p> <p>Wage: $25-$29 an hour</p> <p>Shift: Full time</p> <p>Benefits: Free Thanksgiving Point Membership for you and immediate family; medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurances; paid time off & holidays; 401(k); Employee Assistance Program; Financial Assistance Program; Thanksgiving Point venue discounts; and more!</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Under the direction of the Senior Facilities Director, the Facilities Events Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all facilities-related setup and support for events across Thanksgiving Point. This position plays a key role in ensuring that power, infrastructure, and logistics are safely and efficiently managed for weddings, corporate events, private rentals, and large-scale signature events such as Luminaria, Tulip Festival, Gardens of Quilts, and Imaginaria.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical skills, strong leadership abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with Events, Venue, and Horticulture teams to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests and partners.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Provide administrative support to the Sales and Events Department and Banquets and Catering Set-up team. </li><li>Oversee and manage all facilities setup and support for events, including power distribution, staging, lighting, and infrastructure needs. </li><li>Coordinate the setup and takedown of event spaces, including tents, furniture, signage, and specialty equipment. </li><li>Operate and supervise the safe use of lifts, ladders, and other elevated work equipment to assist with event setup and teardown. </li><li>Collaborate closely with the Events, Venues, and Horticulture teams to ensure event needs are met on schedule and according to specifications. </li><li>Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical needs during events, including temporary power solutions and generator support. </li><li>Plan and manage a small team or crew to complete event setups safely, efficiently, and to Thanksgiving Point standards. </li><li>Maintain an organized inventory of event equipment, cords, tools, and supplies. </li><li>Support large-scale and seasonal events (e.g., Luminaria, Tulip Festival, Gardens of Quilts, Imaginaria) with proactive planning and hands-on coordination. </li><li>Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including proper PPE use, lift certifications, and electrical safety standards. </li><li>Assist with general facilities maintenance as needed during non-event periods. </li><li>Maintain, repair, inspect, install, and troubleshoot equipment and building systems </li><li>Conduct preventative maintenance </li><li>Ensure safety, functionality, code compliance, and maintain aesthetic appeal </li><li>Adhere to and uphold Thanksgiving Point's Mission, Values, and Policies </li><li>Experience leading and driving multiple projects and events with teams </li><li>Ability to prioritize projects and related tasks with organizational direction and budget standard guidelines </li><li>Have strong decision-making and problem-solving skills </li><li>Critical-thinker, independent worker, problem-solver, and ability to follow instructions </li><li>A strong desire and willingness to learn and work well with others </li><li>Plan and manage a small team or crew to complete event setups safely, efficiently, and to Thanksgiving Point standards. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or degree in facilities, electrical, or related field preferred. </li><li>Minimum 3-5 years of facilities, events, or maintenance experience, including supervisory experience. </li><li>Strong understanding of temporary power distribution, basic electrical systems, and equipment setup. </li><li>Comfortable using lifts, ladders, and power tools; certifications preferred. </li><li>Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and work under tight deadlines. </li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments. </li><li>Flexible schedule - must be available for nights, weekends, and holidays during major events. </li><li>Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Limble) is a plus. </li><li>Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in outdoor conditions year-round. </li><li>Pass background check. </li><li>Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check to drive for work. </li></ul> <p>EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
