This course meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. EST at the Lonas Campus (in person labs) in Knoxville, TN. The ideal candidate is creative, engaging, and skilled in using a variety of instructional techniques to support students with diverse learning styles.</p> <p>At a minimum, the essential functions of this position shall include:</p> <ul> <li>Effectively teaches lecture, lab, and/or clinical courses as needed. </li><li>Assists in implementing College policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with South College's philosophy. </li><li>Keeps students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers, projects, skill assessments, and other work. </li><li>Connects students to appropriate campus and community resources. </li><li>Assists with registration, recruitment and retention. </li><li>Assists the program director with accreditation, accreditation reports, self-studies, and site-visits. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Candidates must hold at least an Associate's degree or a Bachelor's degree in a related field. </li></ul> <p>Licensure</p> <ul> <li>Current Phlebotomy certification and CPR certification are required; additional medical assisting certification is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Must have an active, up-to-date Phlebotomy Technician board certification. </li><li>Strong understanding of educational theory and instructional techniques. </li><li>Previous experience teaching in a phlebotomy or medical assisting program and/or working as a phlebotomist or medical assistant. </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency with technology and the use of technology in instruction. </li><li>Experience using Canvas or similar learning management systems, including grading assignments and communicating with students. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Commitment to student success and fostering an inclusive learning environment. </li><li>Prior 2-3 years of teaching experience and/or practical clinical experience in the discipline is preferred. </li><li>Experience meeting with students to provide academic support, feedback, and coaching is a plus. </li></ul>
