<p>Overview:</p> <p>We are currently looking for a Facility Technician to join our fast-paced facilities team at our Torrington, CT fuel cell manufacturing facility. This position will report directly to the Facilities Supervisor and will play a key role in our daily operational readiness as well as our continued operational efficiency and capacity evolution. The hours for this position are M-F 3:30 pm to 11:30 pm.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>The Facility Technician is responsible for performing routine and non-routine repairs and maintenance on equipment and processes in support of our building infrastructure and manufacturing operations.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment supporting building assets. </li><li>Documents all predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance on building assets. </li><li>Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner, following all work instructions and work assignments. </li><li>Works to industry standard best-practices, specifications, and regulatory codes where applicable in a safe, efficient manner. </li><li>Performs regular inspections of plant and process safety systems. </li><li>Performs other duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education: HS Diploma or GED and Trade School or A.S. in Electro-Mechanical Technology program.</p> <p>Experience: In lieu of A.S./Technical School, hands-on applicable experience (4 years minimum) in a manufacturing facilities environment will be considered.</p> <p>Candidate must be knowledgeable with experience in:</p> <ul> <li>Basic Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical and Mechanical building systems. </li><li>Repairing, rebuilding, maintaining, and installing facilities equipment. </li><li>Reading and interpreting layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, schematics, and drawings. </li><li>Machine shop tools and equipment for electrical, plumbing, pneumatics, and hydraulics. </li><li>Ability to communicate with staff and co-workers in a professional manner. </li><li>Functional use of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Be willing to work over normal schedule as necessary in support of the business. </li><li>Must Participate in 24/7 emergency repair and on-call support rotation. </li><li>Physically perform work including lifting and carry a minimum of 25 lbs. routinely and up to 100 lbs. on a non-routine basis with assisted lifting devices. </li><li>Must be able to distinguish colors. </li><li>Must work and physically move throughout a 170,000 sq. ft. plant and on the outside grounds to perform various tasks in normal seasonal Connecticut temparaturs and conditions. </li><li>Possess the ability to work at elevated heights in appropriate equipment and operate a forklifts and man-lifts. </li><li>Work in, around, and under manufacturing equipment, working with both arms and hands simultaneously. </li><li>Work in confined spaces. </li><li>Be able and willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hats, respirator, and other PPE as required. </li><li>Must be able to effectively read, writem abd soeak in English to ensure team communication and be able to follow written procedures. </li><li>Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid driver's license and be willing to traval locally for company business. </li><li>Must be able to support Danbury operations on an infrequent and "as needed" basis. </li><li>Must be willing to work as part of an integrated team and cross functionally with other departments. </li></ul> <p>Nearest Major Market: Torrington</p>
