<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Define the roles and responsibilities of the Housekeeper within a long-term care facility. The purpose is to maintain a safe, orderly and clean environment free of obstacles and odors.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains and floors. </li><li>Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms. </li><li>Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris. </li><li>Clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures. towel bars, towel dispensers. </li><li>Empty trash cans and replace liners. </li><li>Sweep and mop floors. </li><li>Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including the use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of the residents. </li><li>Use supplies and equipment in a safe manner by following the user manual instructions. </li><li>Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean and orderly manner. </li><li>Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns. </li><li>Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies are needing replenished. </li><li>Excellent customer skills and positive attitude. </li><li>Excellent time-management skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently or with a team </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions. </li><li>Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. </li><li>Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. </li><li>Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. </li><li>Fluent in written and spoken English. </li><li>The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, </li><li>the employee is regularly required to sit, kneel, stand, walk and talk, read or hear. Some use of office related equipment to include; copier/scanner/fax, telephone, calculator </li><li>Daily use of housekeeping supplies and equipment. </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum requirement to perform the essential functions of this position is a High School Diploma or a GED. </li><li>Experience working in a long-term care facility preferred. </li></ul>
