<p>HOURLY ABQ READS SITE COORDINATOR - KINDERGARTEN - ATRISCO ES</p> <p>JOB STATUS: OPEN</p> <p>POSTING NUMBER: 00065186</p> <p>SCHOOL YEAR: 2025-2026</p> <p>CALENDAR: TOPS</p> <p>CLOSING DATE: 07/27/2025 04:00 PM</p> <p>POSTING NUMBER: 00065186</p> <p>LOCATION: 216:ATRISCO ES</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: HOURLY ABQ READS SITE COORDINATOR - KINDERGARTEN - ATRISCO ES</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>Coordinates, organizes and oversees the daily operations of the Albuquerque Reads tutoring program., The Albuquerque Reads Coordinator works collaboratively with Kindergarten/First grade teachers to create/develop onsite lesson plans. Creates schedules and oversees the work of the educational assistant and the tutor staff; serves as the primary contact for instructional staff, administrative staff, the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, students, parents, and volunteers. Albuquerque Reads Site Coordinators train, support, and supervise tutors. They implement effective processes to coordinate initial tutor training and ongoing professional development for tutors. They are responsible for tutor management, including making appropriate tutor/student pairs, setting educational goals in cooperation with grade level teacher, creating instructional lesson plans for each tutor/student pair and assisting tutors with lesson plan implementation. Albuquerque Reads Site Coordinators must work with other program staff members to ensure that the Albuquerque Reads programs meets all of the implementation requirements of a systematic and explicit tutoring session. The Coordinator builds and maintains relationships across various stakeholders: School administrative staff, grade level teachers, students, families, tutors, Title I Directors, Title I Resource Teacher and the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>Incumbent must achieve the following outcomes with or without reasonable accommodation:</p> <ul> <li>Meet monthly with grade level teachers to discuss student performance in ELA skills and to create monthly lesson plans. </li><li>Work collaboratively with Title I Resource Teacher and the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce representative to create training materials for new tutors. </li><li>Cooperates in the development and implementation of the Albuquerque Reads Program. </li><li>Serves as the primary contact for the school site Albuquerque Reads program. </li><li>Cooperates in the development and implementation of the Albuquerque Reads program as aligned to the full participation of every child in Kindergarten or First Grade. </li><li>Supports the coordination of and facilitates tutor training sessions when needed. </li><li>Attends all mandatory Albuquerque Reads Leadership meetings held bi-monthly. </li><li>Maintains regular communication with the site principal, Title I Directors and Resource Teacher, tutors and teachers. </li><li>Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. </li><li>Effective interpersonal skills to work with students and tutors from diverse backgrounds. </li><li>Strong self-directedness and initiative to promote student success with minimal supervision. </li><li>Ability to function effectively with multiple priorities, be well-organized and demonstrate effective time management. </li><li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment. </li><li>Sound judgment and discretion in working with confidential information and student records. </li><li>Manage and support 80-100 weekly volunteers (3 tutoring sessions per week). </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Must hold one of these licenses:</p> <ul> <li>New Mexico Early Childhood Teacher License: Birth through Third Grade </li><li>New Mexico Early Childhood Teacher License: PreK- Third Grade </li><li>New Mexico Special Education PreK-12 </li><li>Five Years experience as a teacher in Early Childhood Classrooms </li></ul> <p>CONTACT INFORMATION:</p> <p>Contact: Cheryl Wheeler at 505-872-6877 x 66877 / wheeler_c@aps.edu</p> <p>APPLY TO:</p> <p>ADDITIONAL INFO:</p> <p>SALARY: $54.77 - $63.91</p> <p>DAYS: 189</p> <p>HOURS:</p> <p>START DATE: August 18, 2025</p>
