<p>The Call Center Operator takes calls from patients and answers their questions and/or addresses any concerns they may have. Their duties include handling many inbound and outbound calls to and from patients, listening to patient needs and/or issues, and providing helpful solutions to their problems.</p> <p>Schedule appointments for patients and do so correctly - review appointment date, time, location, and provider name with caller, remind the caller to arrive 15-30 minutes before the appointment, and remind the caller of the cancellation/no-show policy.</p> <ul> <li>Answer telephone promptly and in a polite and professional manner. </li><li>Obtain and enter accurate demographic information into ECW (address, telephone number, name of insurance, or self-pay status. </li><li>Have an understanding of the other services offered by the Clinic. </li><li>Inform callers of items they need to bring with them to their appointments i.e., insurance card, medications, office visit fee, verification of income, etc. </li><li>Prompt patient call backs. </li><li>Answer questions and offer other information, as requested, to provide patient-focused care. </li><li>Act as a liaison for the patients and the Health Center by directing calls to appropriate departments as needed, using sound judgement in handling calls, especially with upset patients, and understanding when to escalate calls to physicians, practice manager, or triage nurse. </li><li>Make reminder calls and/or calls to reschedule appointments when necessary. </li><li>Other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor. </li></ul>
