<p>Basketball Scorekeeper</p> <p>Pay: $16.74 per hour</p> <p> Part-time, Seasonal, Not Benefit Eligible</p> <p> </p> <p>The City of Eagan is hiring a Basketball Scorekeeper!</p> <p> This position works with recreational basketball teams and officials, runs the game clock, and keeps the official scorebook.  Applicants must have prior knowledge of the sport either as a participant, coach, or a scorekeeper.  This position works Wednesday evenings.</p> <p>Hours are dependent on team registrations.</p> <p>Open until filled.</p> <ul> <li>Understand all game and league rules pertaining to game play </li><li>Ensure sportsmanlike conduct of participants and spectators by penalizing those who violate the rules of the game </li><li>Prevent, mediate, and resolve conflicts that may arise during game play </li><li>Ensure proper completion of all scoring documents and report scores to supervisor </li><li>Provide written and/or verbal reports on all incidents, protests, ejections, and facility concerns  </li><li>Communicate and interact with a diverse participant population </li><li>Maintain a positive, polite, considerate, and cooperative attitude </li><li>Act in a fair, consistent, and professional manner </li><li>Works independently </li><li>Inform supervisor of any issues regarding the league </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li><li>Applicants must be 18 years of age or older </li><li>Must be able to socially, physically and mentally perform all essential position functions under the working conditions as described </li><li>Good knowledge of the fundamentals and rules of the game </li><li>Two (2) seasons of participation, coaching, or scorekeeping an adult recreational league </li><li>Must be available to work on Sunday and Wednesday evenings </li><li>Two (2) seasons of prior scorekeeping experience </li></ul> <p> Working Conditions:  100% indoors</p> <ul> <li>Activity can be hectic while a game is in progress </li><li>Hours of work include Wednesday evenings </li></ul> <p> Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job </li><li>While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk and hear </li><li>The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, run, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl </li><li>Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, color vision and peripheral vision </li></ul> <p>Located in the Twin Cities metro area, Eagan is home to about 68,000 people.
