<p>The Controller is responsible for leading finance support for one or more operating Business Units within the company. This position requires a high degree of business partnering; offering insight to divisional financial plans that support operational plans, coordinating the compilation of all financial information produced from their area, and developing effective measures to enhance profitability. The Controller will oversee an accurate and efficient monthly close and ensure internal controls are in place to safeguard the company's assets, by monitoring compliance with company policies and procedures, identifying and reporting risk exposure, and analyzing and reporting financial information. Expected to apply knowledge and experience to solve new and/or complex issues requiring judgment and with a larger risk of error. Success in this position requires an ability to influence and depends on effectively working through and partnering with others vs. individual execution.</p> <p>The Controller may lead divisional or functional projects and is responsible for training and development of both their direct reports within the Accounting and Control group and the Merchandiser Assistant team they support.</p> <ul> <li>Provides leadership to managers and professional staff </li><li>Is accountable for the performance and results of teams </li><li>Offers significant insight to divisional finance plans that supports operational plans </li><li>Prioritize and allocate resources against goals </li><li>Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of their finance department </li><li>Directly accountable for the compilation of the annual budgets, forecasts and monthly reporting, ensuring that all managers have adequate support </li><li>Directly accountable for all financial information produce from their area </li><li>Develop and monitor all financial systems with a view to improve and streamline procedures and process </li><li>Ensure that policies and procedures set by Scoular are implemented and internal controls are operating effectively </li><li>Engage with business partners to develop effective measures to enhance profitability </li><li>May lead divisional or functional projects </li><li>Applies knowledge of key business drivers and the factors that maximize team performance </li><li>Applies knowledge and experience to solve new and/or complex issues requiring judgment and with a larger risk of error. </li><li>Typically involves working through others to indirectly get things done vs individual execution. </li><li>Persuades managers and leaders to act </li><li>Functional projects </li><li>Functional training </li><li>Typically sought after or included in policy development due to expertise and thought leadership. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business </li><li>10+ years of related experience </li><li>5+ years of managerial experience </li><li>CPA Preferred </li></ul> <p>This position can be located in Omaha, NE or Overland Park, KS.</p>
