Join Gilead and help create possible, together.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Voice and Unified Communication Architect is responsible for transforming the way employees communicate and collaborate across Gilead Sciences through the implementation and adoption of best-in-class tools and services. This critical role will develop and maintain standards that empower the employee experience, improve productivity and enhance collaboration with modern voice, video conferencing, and meeting spaces. As a member of the Employee Experience team, Unified Communications Architect will build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, partners, and internal stakeholders to develop roadmaps with enhanced and emerging unified communications capabilities.</p> <p>The Unified Communication Architect holds the responsibility of revolutionizing employee communication and collaboration at Gilead Sciences by adopting and implementing top-tier tools and services. This pivotal role involves establishing and upholding standards that not only enrich the employee experience but also boost productivity and foster collaboration through state-of-the-art voice, video conferencing, and meeting spaces. As a vital part of the Employee Experience team, the Unified Communications Architect will forge and sustain robust connections with vendors, suppliers, partners, and internal stakeholders. Together, they will craft roadmaps that incorporate advanced and emerging unified communications capabilities.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develop and maintain telephony and Unified Communications standards to meet the demands of a global science-oriented organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Consult with key stakeholders about our telephony and Unified Communications capabilities and standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Design voice, telephony and Unified Communications and the best practices surrounding their implementation.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish and uphold quality and maintenance standards for the worldwide deployment and upkeep of global Unified Communication technology.</p> </li><li> <p>Construct and maintain an efficient laboratory environment to assess incremental updates and evaluate novel tools and technologies.</p> </li><li> <p>Engage in a high-performance delivery and operations team, ensuring an exemplary employee experience across conferencing, video, streaming, and voice services.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and implement communication solutions and services that cater to the organization's expanding needs and growth.</p> </li><li> <p>Drive a transformation in employee work patterns and connections through innovative meeting room designs, physical spaces, and user-friendly devices.</p> </li><li> <p>Explore emerging technological trends that could enhance workplace dynamics, evaluating their potential through continuous proof of concepts and pilot projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate closely with IT counterparts, Facilities, IT Security, business stakeholders, partners, vendors, and managed service providers to uphold an exceptional user experience with telephony, Unified Communications systems, equipment, and spaces.</p> </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE& SKILLS:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in related discipline and ten years of related experience; or</p> </li><li> <p>Master's degree in related discipline and ten years of related experience; or</p> </li><li> <p>PhD degree in related discipline and eight years of related experience; or</p> </li><li> <p>Equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Proven experience developing a strategy and roadmap for modernizing communications and collaborations technologies and experiences across the entire organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated thought-leader, capable of identifying and understanding technology trends and applying them to Gilead Sciences' needs and use cases.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience managing an application portfolio with a diverse set of unified communications solutions, including but not limited to phone services, fax services, IVR configurations, auto attendants, and conferencing solutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience driving enterprise-wide technology adoption while understanding and adapting communications solutions to meet different needs across the organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with diverse technologies such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, CUCM, VC, SBCs & traditional telephony equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience managing relationships with telecommunications vendors</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Comprehensive knowledge of unified communications and digital collaboration applications in enterprise organizations.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to multitask, work collaboratively across a matrix organization and ensure flexibility in a dynamic corporate and team environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to leverage both internal and external resources to expedite and deliver projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in a team environment, create timelines, and continually make necessary adjustments.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent writing, presentation, and oral communication skills</p> </li></ul> <p>The salary range for this position is: $169,320.00 - $219,120.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
