<p>Sewer, Water and Drain</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Supervise the activities of a crew of mechanics, equipment operators, pipe layers, working foreman, water and sewer</p> <p>maintenance craftsmen, laborers, who are engaged in a particular phase of the activities in the department such as:</p> <p>construction and maintenance of sanitary sewers and storm drains; check to see that all pipe is laid to correct grade and</p> <p>all joints are made tight; manholes are built at correct stations, and all trenches are made safe by bracing and sheathing.</p> <ul> <li>Must work the "on call" rotation Foreman Schedule as required. </li><li>Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays are required. </li><li>Maintain and repair tide gates. </li><li>May be required to work 2nd or 3rd shift as needed. </li><li>Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Working Foreman preferred. </li></ul> <p>Inspects construction and repair work performed under contract to ascertain compliance with City specifications. Keeps accurate records on progress of work. Assigns workers to duties.</p> <p>During snow operations the foreman will assist in coordinating the snow removal operations consisting of:</p> <ul> <li>Route assignments </li><li>Addressing complaints from concerned citizens </li><li>Keeping accurate time of all trucks and personnel </li><li>Inspecting snow routes for completeness. </li><li>Other supervisory duties related to snow and ice, as required. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS AND ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Massachusetts Class B Driver's License. </li><li>Must have basic math skills </li><li>Must be able to read water meters </li><li>Must possess a valid Massachusetts Grade 1D Drinking Water Facilities Operators License, or the ability to obtain it within 18 months of appointment. </li><li>Hoisting License 2A preferred or have must obtain within 14 months of the appointment. </li><li>Confined Entry Space trained. </li></ul> <p>Application:</p> <p>To apply, please complete a City of Quincy Employment Application and follow the directions on the Job Postings Page.</p>
