<p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Assistant Director of Experiential Education (EE), reporting to the Director of Experiential Education, will work closely with the Division of EE to ensure a high-quality experiential education program that is delivered to students across the curriculum. The Assistant Director is the primary point of contact for students and preceptors engaged in Introductory Pharmacy Practices Experiences (IPPE) Institutional and Team Based Care courses and will prepare course syllabi and assessments, schedule rotations, collect and grade assignments, and resolve problems that arise during these courses.</p> <p>Major Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of the introductory pharmacy practice experiences (IPPE) through the established curriculum development process and established program goals and objectives in alignment with ACPE accreditation standards. Including but not limited to </li><li>Ensure effective student orientation including in person session and the maintenance of EE Canvas. </li><li>Develop and provide preceptor development, as needed. </li><li>Oversee the scheduling of IPPE experiential rotations including collecting preceptor availability, scheduling students, and managing reschedules. </li><li>Obtain and promptly address feedback from preceptors/students (midpoint/final evaluations). </li><li>Assess student required rotation activities (medication information questions and charts, peer-peer interactions) </li><li>Provide regular feedback to preceptors, students, and faculty based on rotation evaluations </li><li>Execute virtual and on-site visits in alignment with the quality assurance process. </li><li>Serve as Course Coordinator for IPPE Team Based Care and Institutional courses. </li><li>Collaborate with Division of Experiential Education to </li><li>Ensure efficient processes and procedures through active participation in weekly EE meetings and Pharmacy Experiential Education Committee (PEEC) meetings. </li><li>Update IPPE and APPE course materials (i.e., syllabi, activities checklists, assignments) in alignment with ACPE accreditation standards. </li><li>Participate in APPE Student Orientation sessions </li><li>Assist in creating and delivering preceptor development materials and programs </li><li>Identify and cultivate sites appropriate for IPPE rotations to ensure capacity is met. </li><li>Engage in didactic teaching within the Department of Pharmacy Practice </li><li>Engage with the college community through </li><li>Attendance at Pharmacy Practice department meetings </li><li>Participation in College and/or Program Committees as the EE ad hoc member </li><li>Assist with didactic and co-curricular campus activities of interest </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Leadership potential and commitment to continued professional growth </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of current major issues and trends in pharmacy and health care </li><li>Evidence of effective interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, problem solving, team building, and mediation skills </li><li>Strong organizational and supervisory skills </li><li>Demonstrates a positive attitude and work ethic </li><li>Observes schedules and meets assignment deadlines </li><li>Proficiency with technology, and understanding of its application in the classroom, presentations, and administrative support systems </li><li>Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment on campus </li><li>Commitment to innovative program development and relationship building </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school, required </li><li>Pharmacist license in New York or eligible for licensure in New York </li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience </li><li>Prior precepting experience </li><li>Prior academic experience, preferred </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. However, following the onboarding process and an initial probationary period, there may be an opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule (up to 1-2 days remote), subject to performance and institutional needs. All remote work must be performed in a state in which the College is registered to do business which includes New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maryland, Texas, and California. Standard work hours are from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday. The position requires travel, depending on the needs of the College.
