The College is also in compliance with the Family Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (P.L. 93-380) as amended by the (P.L. 95-568).</p> <p>POSITION TITLE</p> <p> Transportation & Logistics Instructor</p> <p>APPOINTMENT</p> <p>AppointedbytheChancelloroftheCollegeupontherecommendationoftheViceChancellorof Strategic Initiatives and External Affairs & Executive Director of Workforce</p> <p>LINEANDSTAFF RELATIONSHIPS</p> <p>The Transportation & Logistics Instructor reports directly to the Executive Director of Workforce or other designated personnel. </p> <p>GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>Reporting to the Executive Director of Workforce or designee, the Transportation & Logistics Instructor supports developing and coordinating Classroom instruction primarily for the Workforce Training Initiatives with Industry partners. Associate degree desired. </li><li>Knowledgeable in the Workforce crafts subject area of expertise. </li><li>Community college experience, university teaching, or corporate training experience is highly desired. </li></ul> <p> DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledgeable in NCCER coursework </li><li>A valid Louisiana Driver's License (some travel may be required) </li><li>Proof of motor vehicle insurance </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Awareness of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (/FMCSA) guidelines effective February 07, 2022. </li><li>Ability to adapt to today's changing standards of commercial vehicles and heavy equipment operations. </li><li>Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to relate to a variety of individuals. </li><li>Effective written and oral communication skills, time management skills, and the ability to evaluate and determine the priority of workload to meet deadlines and goals. </li><li>Must maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials. </li><li>Proficiency in Excel, Word, and overall computer-related activities. </li><li>High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). </li></ul> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Provides instruction of assigned courses and corresponding prescribed curricula relative to Transportation & Logistics industry sector (Commercial Driver's License, Forklift, Heavy Equipment Operator, etc.). </li><li>Maintains program equipment and is responsible for reporting repairs/maintenance needed by external vendors in a timely manner. </li><li>Perform third-party exams to issue Class A/B commercial driver's license. </li><li>Generates and maintains industry partnerships. </li><li>Markets and recruits for maximum enrollment for assigned courses. </li><li>Maintains student awareness of industry employment needs and requirements. </li><li>Establishes and maintains a well-disciplined and orderly classroom environment. </li><li>Establishes and maintains safety policies and procedures for classroom and work sites. </li><li>Evaluates students' performance by assessing needs, testing skills and knowledge, and then communicating results to the student; develop, update, and maintain students' training/instructional plans. </li><li>Communicates effectively with administrators and staff on students' progress and program needs. </li><li>Instructs students in appropriate entry-level job skills, guide students in making career-related decisions, and assist them in obtaining employment. </li><li>Maintains and updates occupational skills, appropriate industry awareness, and community involvement as it relates to successful performance and other required duties as assigned. </li><li>DemonstratecommitmenttoprofessionaldevelopmentintheWorkforceandeducational field. </li><li>Collaborates with the Program Manager to non-credit student records of training/certifications. </li><li>PERFORMS ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED </li></ul>
