This individual would be involved in projects with our US Mine Waste Team and be a part of a growing organization that is uniquely positioned to solve our client's most challenging projects. In this role you will have the opportunity to work as a part of a regional team on challenging mining, heavy civil, and geotechnical projects. #GlobalMining</p> <p>Your Impact</p> <ul> <li> <p>Working within our Mine Waste team on civil and geotechnical engineering projects for the mining industry</p> </li><li> <p>Lead and direct project team on engineering tasks such as:</p> </li><li> <p>Geotechnical field investigations</p> </li><li> <p>Site and material characterization</p> </li><li> <p>Design of tailing storage facilities including grading, storage capacity, and construction quantity evaluations</p> </li><li> <p>Slope stability, seepage, consolidation, liner system, and deformation analyses to support facility designs</p> </li><li> <p>Surface water management analysis and facility designs</p> </li><li> <p>Preparing technical reports that document field and laboratory investigations, engineering analyses, and facility designs</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting with the preparation of project design packages including technical drawings, specifications, project schedules, and cost estimates</p> </li><li> <p>Working on domestic and international assignments</p> </li><li> <p>Working with and leading multi-disciplinary project teams</p> </li><li> <p>Supporting technical proposals and designing work packages in response to client needs</p> </li><li> <p>Managing the work of entry-level engineers</p> </li><li> <p>Independently manage projects according to client-approved scopes of work and deliver high quality reports on time and within budget subject to senior review and oversight</p> </li><li> <p>Comply with company and client safety guidelines and site-specific procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the preparation and implementation of site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).</p> </li><li> <p>Work collaboratively with other engineers and planners on projects with infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.</p> </li></ul> <p>Who You Are</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in engineering, or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).</p> </li><li> <p>15+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior civil design experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong analytical skills including the ability to complete engineering calculations and analyses.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Have relevant experience in conducting and/or managing engineering tasks such as</p> </li><li> <p>Geotechnical field investigations,</p> </li><li> <p>Site and material characterization,</p> </li><li> <p>Design of facilities including grading, storage capacity, and construction quantity evaluations,</p> </li><li> <p>Slope stability analysis,</p> </li><li> <p>Seepage modeling,</p> </li><li> <p>Deformation analyses to support facility designs, and</p> </li><li> <p>Surface water management analysis</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with discipline-specific analysis and design software (i.e., SEEP/W, SLOPE/W, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).</p> </li><li> <p>Professional Engineering license required or ability to get within one year of joining WSP.</p> </li><li> <p>Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Project management experience with small to mid-level projects including scoping, and tracking hours and expenses for project work commensurate with years of experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work both independently and on teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Comfortable working in remote settings</p> </li><li> <p>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability and willingness to travel.
