Together, we're working at the pace of change to improve patient lives with diagnostic tools that address the world's biggest health challenges.</p> <p>The Paralegal for the Contract Development Team is responsible for supporting our legal team by drafting, reviewing, and revising commercial and other agreements, conducting legal and business research, and managing various legal projects.</p> <p>This position is part of the Legal Department located in Brea, CA and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.</p> <p>You will be a part of the Contract Development Team and report to the Director of NACO Contract Development responsible for overseeing legal operations and ensuring compliance within the contract development process. If you thrive in a global, fast-paced, and collaborative role and want to work to build a world-class legal organization-read on.</p> <p>In this role, you will have the opportunity to:</p> <ul> <li>Draft, review, and revise commercial and other agreements, including government contracts, RFPs, site access agreements, BAAs, HIPAA Business Associate Agreements, and customer disputes. </li><li>Conduct legal and business research. </li><li>Identify complex legal issues related to assigned matters and propose alternative solutions. </li><li>Train commercial sales and service teams on the "battle of the forms" process. </li><li>Develop written procedures and workflow plans for standard operating procedures as required. </li></ul> <p>The essential requirements of the job include:</p> <ul> <li>BA/BS from an accredited college or university, a paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited school, or any equivalent combination of related experience, training, and/or education. </li><li>Five or more years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in-house for a corporation. </li><li>Experience with anti-kickback laws, HIPAA, and the medical device industry. </li><li>Ability to apply analytical skills to interpret data and develop solutions to address a variety of contract-related issues. </li><li>Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills. </li></ul> <p>It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:</p> <ul> <li>Negotiation skills. </li><li>Working with outside counsel and interacting with senior management. </li><li>Managing projects and meeting tight deadlines. </li></ul> <p>The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is 100k-115k. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
