<p>The CT Technologist 2 independently performs a wide range of standard CT procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Responsible for conducting imaging procedures, processing diagnostic images using specialized equipment, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care through direct interaction with patients. The role involves preparing and administering contrast material to patients through various methods such as injection and oral intake. Continuous professional development through medical and technical education is integral to maintaining and enhancing their skills, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and diagnostic results.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Performs exam according to established procedure manual while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and protection. </li><li>Selects pre-established technical protocols and sequences for each examination. </li><li>Verifies if female patient is or is not pregnant. </li><li>Assists with specific procedures as indicated, using sterile technique when applicable. </li><li>Performs effective communication with patients regarding procedure, identifies patients using two identifiers and verifies orders. </li><li>Works calmly under stress and calls for assistance when needed. </li><li>Reports mechanical malfunctions or problems following chain of command as soon as possible. </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of computers for verifying orders and / or records. </li><li>Obtains adequate history and diagnosis for the ordered exam and ensures the correct exam is performed according to established guidelines. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Technical Program Radiologic Technology Or </li><li>Associate's degree in Imaging related field such as Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy </li></ul> <p>License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State</p> <ul> <li>General Radiographer, Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Radiation Therapy Technologist </li></ul> <p>Certification</p> <ul> <li>American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R - Radiography) And </li><li>American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (CT - Computerized Tomography) And </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross </li></ul> <p>Work Experience and Additional Information</p> <ul> <li>One year experience as a CT Technologist. </li><li>A working knowledge of the CT equipment is necessary. </li></ul>
