Kennedy Street, Spartanburg SC, 29306</p> <p>Room 150</p> <p>Start Time: 9am</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Phlebotomy Apprentice works in conjunction with Spartanburg Community College and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System to obtain education and training to become a skilled phlebotomist. This paid apprenticeship will incorporate classroom didactic coursework and on-the-job training in one of the SRHS laboratories. At the end of this course, students will be eligible to sit for the ASCP PBT exam.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>HS Diploma or equivalent </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Entry (0 years of experience) </li></ul> <p>License/Registration/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements</p> <p>Preferred Education</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Preferred License/Registration/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Core Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Successfully completes the Spartanburg Phlebotomy Academy training, including hospital orientation </li><li>BLS training course provided by SRHS </li><li>One-on-one orientation with a Phlebotomy Instructor for skills assessment and validation </li><li>Trainees will orient on AM, PM or weekend shifts </li><li>Completion of the Phlebotomy Course and final exam </li><li>Take and successfully pass the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Phlebotomy Technician registry </li><li>Identifies areas for improvement and seeks ways to work on self-defined weaknesses </li><li>Remains committed to unit, department, and division goals </li><li>Attends continuing education classes for improvement offered at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System as assigned by leadership </li><li>Adheres to proper chain of command. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality regarding patient information as required by HIPAA </li><li>While these standards are intended to be an accurate reflection of the job requirements, management reserves the right to modify add/or remove duties from jobs and to assign other duties as necessary. </li><li>Compliance: understands and complies with the Standards of Behavior and department policies, procedures, and regulations. </li></ul>
