<p>OVERVIEW</p> <p>Merrick & Company is looking for an experienced Project Accounting Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide direct involvement with a project accounting team, the project teams, as well as other members of the accounting department. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and teamwork skills. We are seeking a professional who is adept in communicating, discussing, and resolving accounting and invoice related problems with the team, striving to correct issues in a timely manner. Must have the ability to prioritize taasks while balancing speed with quality of results while working in a fast-paced environment.</p> <p>WHAT YOU'LL DO</p> <p>Project Support</p> <ul> <li>Set-up and maintenance of projects in Merrick's financial system. </li><li>Prepare invoices, monitor unbilled fees, be aware of and elevate non-current amounts. </li><li>Understand revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and understand what drives the differences between revenue recognized versus hours worked and billed to date. </li><li>Anticipate project financial needs beyond invoicing and work with Project Managers, Project Assistants, or Project Controls to supply additional information needed to manage the project. </li></ul> <p>Lead Support</p> <ul> <li>Provide project leadership to ~4 project accountants through their project support questions and guidance. </li><li>Provide support and training to end users, including developing solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. </li><li>Identify and develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree with seven (7)+ years Accounting experience. </li><li>Advanced Excel skills with the ability to calculate and analyze numerical data utilizing, but not limited to the following functions; Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and If Statements. </li><li>Experience in invoicing, billing and project accounting </li><li>Highly motivated, and able to work independently. Detail oriented, organized, and disciplined.
