<p>Title: Construction Supervisor</p> <p>Effective Date: 2025</p> <p>Reports: Construction Manager</p> <p>FLSA: Exempt</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>Verita Telecommunications Corporation is seeking a motivated and skilled Construction Supervisor to oversee day-to-day field operations across underground and aerial telecommunications construction projects. This frontline leadership role is responsible for managing in-house and subcontractor crews, ensuring compliance with safety standards, maintaining quality control, and meeting project timelines.</p> <p>The ideal candidate is hands-on, solutions-focused, and highly organized, with a solid understanding of both aerial and underground telecom construction methods. This position is a key player in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Crew Leadership & Site Management </li></ol> <ul> <li>Supervise and support underground and aerial construction crews, including operators, laborers, linemen, and locators. </li><li>Conduct daily tailgate meetings to communicate jobsite goals, safety topics, and daily work plans. </li><li>Coach and mentor less experienced team members and hold crews accountable for safety, quality, and production. </li><li>Coordinate with job site foremen to ensure production goals are achieved. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Safety & Compliance </li></ol> <ul> <li>Enforce compliance with OSHA, DOT, NESC, 811 regulations, and internal safety policies. </li><li>Ensure proper use of PPE, climbing gear, fall protection, trench protection, and traffic control. </li><li>Document and address near misses, hazards, and incidents; enforce stop-work authority when needed. </li><li>Approve and submit daily safety documentation (e.g., JHAs, pre-job briefings). </li><li>Conduct and document at least five jobsite safety inspections per week. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Project Execution & Quality Control </li></ol> <ul> <li>Review job prints, permits, maps, and dig tickets before mobilization. </li><li>Schedule work to optimize productivity and minimize delays. </li><li>Oversee execution of trenching, boring, pole transfers, fiber lashing, slack storage, grounding, and cabinet/vault installation. </li><li>Communicate field changes in real-time to managers for approval. </li><li>Monitor installation quality of conduit, strand, fiber, tracer wire, and restoration work. </li><li>Record redlines and field changes; ensure accurate documentation for project closeout. </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Productivity & Resource Coordination </li></ol> <ul> <li>Set daily and weekly production targets; monitor progress and troubleshoot delays. </li><li>Track labor hours, equipment usage, and material consumption across multiple job sites. </li><li>Communicate project status, material shortages, and permitting issues to management in a timely manner. </li><li>Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, engineering, and subcontractors to minimize downtime. </li></ul> <ol start="5"> <li>Communication & Reporting </li></ol> <ul> <li>Serve as the liaison between field crews, upper management, and clients. </li><li>Maintain digital job documentation, including daily production reports, JHAs, safety forms, and logs. </li><li>Provide accurate and timely updates to company leadership and project stakeholders. </li><li>Represent company values and maintain professional conduct on all job sites. </li></ul> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>3+ years of experience in underground and/or aerial telecom construction supervision preferred. </li><li>Proficient in reading and interpreting construction prints, city maps, and telecom designs. </li><li>Working knowledge of NESC, OSHA, and state dig laws (811). </li><li>Strong digital literacy; comfortable with tablets, spreadsheets, project tracking tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. </li><li>Skilled in operating construction equipment (mini-excavators, trenchers, HDD rigs) and office equipment. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and assertively. </li><li>Capable of making independent decisions and solving problems under pressure. </li><li>High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications are a plus. </li><li>Must pass a background check and drug screening. </li><li>Valid driver's license required; ability to travel to multiple job sites daily. </li></ul> <p>Performance Expectations</p> <ul> <li>Be consistently present and visible on active job sites. </li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment. </li><li>Demonstrate ownership of safety, quality, and crew performance. </li><li>Lead by example with urgency, integrity, and professionalism. </li><li>Deliver projects on time and to spec without compromising safety or quality. </li></ul> <p>Join the Verita Team</p> <p>Verita Telecommunications Corporation is growing fast - and we're looking for driven professionals to grow with us.
