<p>TITLE: SOCIAL WORKER</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS: Certified by the State Board of Examiners in the State of New Jersey</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Special Services/Related Programs</p> <p>JOB GOALS: To help students resolve such personal, emotional and social problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their capacity to enjoy the fullest benefits of the education offered them.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Performs casework service with individual students to correct those personal, social or emotional maladjustments related to their educational and social progress.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs casework service with parents as an integral part of the task of helping students, to increase the parents' understanding, their constructive participation in resolving their child's problems, and their knowledge and use of appropriate resources available.</p> </li><li> <p>Consults and collaborates with other school personnel in gathering and giving information on a case, as part of regular Child Study Team casework.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves as liaison with such outside agencies as the Welfare Department, Division of Youth and Family Services, Juvenile Court, and the like, as appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Makes home visits for the purpose of gathering helpful information on a student's background.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves as liaison between home and school for all exceptional children, as in welfare cases, foster home children, and disadvantaged students.</p> </li><li> <p>Counsels and assists exceptional students directly toward adjustment to school; interprets the role of the public school as it affects the child or parent.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains records as necessary for use of school staff members or outside agencies, protecting the confidentiality of these records as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with other Child Study Team members in the formulation of an individualized educational plan to meet the needs of the exceptional student.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with in-service training of school personnel when requested.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares for and attends staffing meetings at which time the Individual Education Plan is developed and discussed with appropriate personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Cooperates in the development of a working relationship with all members of the faculty, Child Study Team, and other members of the school community.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a level of professional competence appropriate to the specific area of certification, assignment, and matters of general educational importance.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other related professional duties as required.</p> </li></ol> <p>SALARY:</p> <p>Penns Grove- Carneys Point Regional School Employees/Teacher Negotiated Agreement</p> <p>EVALUATION:</p> <p>Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel and current law.</p>
