<p>Overview: Math teachers are responsible for creating safe, engaging, and respectful learning environments for all students. This individual demonstrates sound pedagogical knowledge and understanding of math content areas. The candidate has an understanding of the Massachusetts Mathematics Curriculum Framework. The candidate employs a variety of age and developmentally appropriate instructional methods and tools designed to meet the needs of all learners. The ideal candidate collaborates well with colleagues to teach math concepts to a diverse group of students. The candidate can successfully establish strong relationships with students, faculty, parents, and community. These anticipated openings are due to retirements in the department. Strong candidates will demonstrate the ability to: Plan, organize, and deliver lessons and learning activities that align with the Massachusetts Math Curriculum Frameworks and utilize the Universal Design for Learning guidelines Create a classroom learning environment that is engaging for students and in which mutual respect is shown Implement authentic assessments to determine student growth and effectively communicate feedback and data to students, parents, administration Work with colleagues to plan instruction based upon explicit goals regarding what students should know and be able to do Incorporate a variety of instructional methods, technology, and media best suited for math content and skills Establish and maintain standards for student behavior that afford a healthy, safe, and enjoyable learning environment Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
