<p>Job Description:</p> <p>TRIO Upward Bound is seeking an Academic Tutor to support TRIO high school participants who are low-income, first-generation, and college bound. Tutors will provide academic support in core curriculum areas, including:</p> <ul> <li>Math </li><li>Science </li><li>English </li><li>Foreign Language </li><li>Other subject areas as needed </li></ul> <p>Tutoring will be conducted in small groups or classroom settings. Tutors are expected to:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate documentation (e.g., tutoring logs) </li><li>Communicate regularly with the TRIO Upward Bound Director and Educational Advisor </li></ul> <p>Skills Needed:</p> <ul> <li>Strong ability to connect and build rapport with students from diverse, multicultural backgrounds </li><li>Ability to work independently and manage assigned duties responsibly </li><li>Professionalism in working with school counselors, teachers, and TRIO staff </li><li>Reliability and commitment to regular scheduling </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule:</p> <p>Tutoring sessions will take place twice a week on:</p> <ul> <li>Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays </li><li>Time: 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree or 60+ college credit hours </li><li>At least 1 year of experience tutoring students in TRIO or other federally funded educational programs </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject area </li><li>At least 1 year of experience tutoring in school settings </li></ul>
