Position Requirements of Clinical Quality Champion:</p> <ul> <li>Work in concert with the Regional Quality Coordinator to implement the SCA Health strategic clinical-quality plan. </li><li>Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. </li><li>Knowledge of standards, survey methodology and related tools and resources for regulatory and accreditation requirements. </li><li>Regularly access internal and external resources to maintain professional knowledge base. </li></ul> <p>II. Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <p>Maintain knowledge of:</p> <ul> <li>Clinical best practices </li><li>Accreditation and regulatory standards </li><li>Quality improvement processes </li><li>SCA Health Performance/Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Plan </li><li>SCA Health Governing Body (GB) and Medical Executive Committee (MEC) Bylaws </li><li>Center Medical Staff Rules & Regulations </li><li>SCA Health non-negotiable policies </li><li>Facility Infection Control program </li><li>Nationally recognized patient safety goals (NPSG's) for ASCs </li><li>Environmental safety regulations and guidelines </li><li>SCA Health Medical Staff Services and Credentialing guidelines </li><li>SCA Health Medical Staff Services and Credentialing Manual </li><li>Center and regional education, orientation, and training programs </li><li>ASC center leadership responsibilities </li><li>SCA Health Homepages: Clinical Resources, Quality Council SharePoint, Environment of Care, Credentialing </li></ul> <p>Lead, facilitate, and advise the center administration, clinical management, medical leadership and staff of the center Medication Management and Safety Plan and program activities:</p> <ul> <li>Set the agenda and maintain meeting </li><li>Report mandatory and center-specific monthly and quarterly trends and improvement opportunities to the Quality Council and Medical Executive Committee/Governing Body at least quarterly. </li></ul> <p>Maintain center regulatory and accreditation survey readiness:</p> <ul> <li>Assess center compliance with accreditation standards and regulations in collaboration with leadership and staff. </li><li>Work with facility leadership to identify areas of vulnerability and direct the development of strategies to enhance compliance. </li><li>Provide the overall direction necessary to ensure that clinical services provided are evidence-based, in accordance with standards, and established through state and federal regulations and applicable accreditation standards including the National Patient Safety Goals. </li><li>Assists the Administrator with responses to any survey/inspections by licensing and/or accrediting agencies </li></ul> <p>Provides strategic oversite of proactive and reactive patient safety activities:</p> <ul> <li>Root cause analysis </li><li>Clinical practice guidelines </li><li>Sentinel Event Alerts </li><li>Identify and collect center-specific quality indicators for high-risk procedures as needed (AAHC,TJC). </li><li>Annually revise the PI Plan and prepare the program's annual report for the Medical Executive Committee and Governing Body. </li><li>Document and retain all Performance Improvement activities for at least three years. </li><li>Ensure the centers policies, procedures, and processes comply with current regulatory and accrediting standards and mandatory SCA Health Corporate policies. </li></ul> <p>Maintain center survey readiness:</p> <ul> <li>Assess center compliance with accreditation standards and regulations in collaboration with leadership and staff. </li><li>Work with facility leadership to identify areas of vulnerability and direct the development of strategies to enhance compliance. </li><li>Provide the overall direction necessary to ensure that clinical services provided are evidence-based, in accordance with standards, and established through state and federal regulations and applicable accreditation standards including the National Patient Safety Goals. </li><li>Assists the Administrator with responses to any survey/inspections by licensing and/or accrediting agencies. </li></ul> <p>Communicate Effectively Throughout All Levels of the Organization:</p> <ul> <li>Proactively educate and train leadership and staff regarding regulatory issues, new statutes, guidelines, safety/quality/performance improvement activities and their respective responsibilities in carrying out the performance improvement program. </li><li>Maintain effective communication on current center activities related to Safety/Quality/PI and Accreditation. Seek consultation as needed for support from the Regional Quality Coordinator or assigned Group Director. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Licenses or Certifications: Licensed Registered Nurse</p> <p>Education, vocational training, and experience: Registered Nurse with training/experience in developing and implementing a formal medication inventory plan for the ambulatory surgery setting, requirement for BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification within one year of employment.</p> <p>USD $28.61/Hr.
