<p>TITLE: Tooling I - Apprentice, Level IV (2nd Shift)</p> <p>POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position requires a highly motivated individual who is willing to learn and apply acquired skills. S/he must be mechanically oriented with the ability to work with a variety of hand tools and lifting equipment. During the Apprenticeship the Apprentice will receive on the job learning and related instruction in all phases of the occupation necessary to develop the skill and proficiency of a skilled Journey worker. The Apprentice is responsible for completing all OJT and related classes as required by the Apprenticeship Training Program. The Apprentice must abide by the guidelines set forth in the Standards of Apprenticeship. The Apprentice must adhere to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices. Successful completion of the Apprenticeship Training Program will result in a Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship issued by the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary. Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions. A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required. Applicant must provide an official transcript(s) for high school and post high school education and training. All GED records must be submitted if applicable. Applicants must submit a DD-214 to verify military training and/or experience if they are a veteran and wish to receive consideration for such training/experience. Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to fill out simple forms. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide two-digit numbers. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be certified/licensed by Medegen to operate material handling equipment including, but not limited to a rider jack and a sit-down forklift. Certification includes successful completion of a drug screen and proof of vision with or without corrective lenses.</p> <p>JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Lathe Manuel Mill Manual Grinding (OD or Surface) Drilling Welding (Tig/Mi/Stick) Sawing Assembly/Disassembly of Tool/Mold Polishing/Fitting/Hand-working CNC (Mill or Turning) Documentation (Work Orders)</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.</p>
