This position requires managing administrative functions such as scheduling, billing, and office supply coordination, alongside clinical duties including patient intake, vital signs measurement, and assisting healthcare providers during examinations. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and external vendors, fostering a professional and welcoming environment. By efficiently balancing office management and medical assisting tasks, this role contributes significantly to the overall patient experience and operational efficiency. Ultimately, the Office Manager/Medical Assistant ensures that both the administrative and clinical aspects of the practice run seamlessly to support quality healthcare delivery.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant certification program preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 2 years experience in a medical office environment with exposure to both administrative and clinical tasks. </li><li>Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office). </li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced healthcare setting. </li><li>Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential. </li><li>Experience with medical billing and coding, including familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT codes. </li><li>Previous supervisory or office management experience in a healthcare setting. </li><li>Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance standards. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with diverse patient populations. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee daily office operations including appointment scheduling, patient registration, and maintaining medical records. </li><li>Manage billing processes, insurance claims, and coordinate with insurance providers to ensure accurate reimbursement. </li><li>Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations by preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, and documenting patient information. </li><li>Maintain office inventory, order supplies, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards. </li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries, coordinating follow-ups, and facilitating communication between staff and patients. </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <p>The required skills enable the candidate to efficiently manage both the administrative and clinical demands of the role, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate record-keeping. Proficiency in EHR systems and office software supports effective scheduling, billing, and documentation tasks. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities allow the individual to balance patient care duties with office management responsibilities seamlessly. Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures facilitates clear communication with healthcare providers and accurate patient data collection. Preferred skills such as medical billing expertise and regulatory knowledge enhance the candidate's ability to optimize office operations and maintain compliance with healthcare standards.</p> <p>This position is a 11-month position and hours are dependent on the need of the department and students.</p>
