<p>Position: Asphalt QC Lab Manager</p> <p>Location: Hoffman Estates, Illinois</p> <p>Duration: Permanent direct hire</p> <p>Job ID: 175798</p> <p>Job Overview:</p> <p>The Asphalt QC Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality control operations within the asphalt laboratory. This role involves managing technicians, ensuring compliance with safety policies, performing production tests, and maintaining lab equipment and documentation. The manager will work closely with the Asphalt QC Manager/Coordinator to optimize mix changes and ensure volumetrics and cost efficiency.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Confer with Asphalt QC Manager/Coordinator about mix changes to best achieve volumetrics and cost. </li><li>Ensure compliance with company safety policies in the lab. </li><li>Direct activities and schedule technicians for daily work assignments. </li><li>Perform daily production tests. </li><li>Conduct yearly lab inspections and monthly R-18 lab and equipment calibration. </li><li>Maintain lab equipment, including repairs and maintenance. </li><li>Handle yearly plant calibration, documentation, and submittal. </li><li>Create job-specific QC addendums. </li></ul> <p>Additional Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate with plant personnel regarding timing and placement for samples to achieve test results within specification. </li><li>Identify quality problems and deficiencies, initiate documented action, and verify implementation of solutions. </li><li>Prepare and submit QC reports following defined procedures. </li><li>Maintain records of testing and inform managers, producers, and field engineers of testing results through reports, charts, and graphs. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Solid understanding of means and methods of construction for civil project work. </li><li>Detail-oriented, organized, accurate, and proactive. </li><li>Ability to multi-task across several projects. </li><li>Strong supervisory and team management skills. </li><li>Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Self-directed and motivated. </li><li>Demonstrated leadership skills. </li><li>Ability to complete projects on time and on budget. </li><li>Availability for nights and weekends. </li></ul> <p>About PTR Global: PTR Global is a leading provider of information technology and workforce solutions.
