<p>Introduction</p> <p>The State of Connecticut, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is seeking to fill an Engineer Trainee vacancy in the Investigations Unit of the Bureau of Air Management's Enforcement Division. Promotion to Environmental Protection Air Pollution Control Engineer 1 will occur after successful completion of the training program. </li><li>This position will require routine in-state travel in support of the unit's work, e.g., conducting on-site inspections. </li><li>This position will require infrequent out-of-state travel for training and to attend regional and national work groups and conferences. </li><li>Within the Enforcement Division, the Investigations Unit is responsible for: </li><li>Implementing the Department's Geospatial Measurement of Air Pollution (GMAP) program. The GMAP program involves the use of a motor vehicle equipped with air pollution analyzers, meteorological instrumentation, and GPS to conduct mobile enforcement screening and community-based monitoring of criteria air pollutants, air toxics, and greenhouse gases.
