<p>Job title: Pickleball Instructor, YMCA</p> <p>Description: Under the direction of the Association Director of Sports, the Pickleball Instructor is responsible for the development, instruction, and motivation of all program participants in classes.</p> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Organizes, plans, and executes all activities for enrolled participants </li><li>Prepares for special program presentations </li><li>Monitors the area at all times to ensure safety, and immediately makes changes as necessary </li><li>Provides a positive environment for all participants, and actively encourages participation to ensure growth and development </li><li>Exemplifies appropriate behavior and is a role model for participants; actively listens to all participants and shows patience, understanding, and respect for others </li><li>Instructs and guides participants through the rules of the program and ensures adherence. </li><li>Exercises effective problem solving techniques, tackles issues directly and makes timely decisions based upon logical conclusions of factual information </li><li>Immediately reports all unusual incidents or accidents to the Association Director of Sports, and fills out all applicable and necessary reports </li><li>Records daily attendance and maintains accurate and complete records </li><li>Ensures the program area is neat, orderly and free of all safety impediments </li><li>Develops and fosters interpersonal relationships between participants, and is proactive creating an environment of cooperation, friendliness, and helpfulness towards staff and customers </li><li>Develops and maintains age-appropriate activities </li><li>Ensures all necessary supplies are on hand and well maintained at all times </li><li>Responsible for upholding all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day, as required by department </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum age of 18. </li><li>High School Diploma/GED or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Prior experience with specialty program offering. </li><li>Prior experience in playing and teaching the sport. </li><li>Must possess skills necessary to inform, educate and motivate participants in all areas of pickleball. </li><li>Certifications: CPR/AED and First Aid required in the first 90 days of employment. </li><li>Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills. </li><li>Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic </li><li>segments of the community. </li></ul> <p>Work Locations: The candidate will work at YMCA locations depending on schedule:</p> <ul> <li>Bardmoor YMCA (8495 Bryan Dairy Rd, Largo, FL 33773) </li><li>Jim & Heather Gills YMCA (3200 1st Ave S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712) </li><li>Speer YMCA (495 62nd Ave NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33702) </li></ul> <p>Pay & Perks: Part-time, hourly rate of $15.00/hour. Varied scheduled to include weekends and/or evenings. Free individual YMCA membership for employee and discount for family.</p> <ul> <li>Level 2 background and 10-panel drug screen required. </li></ul>
