This technician will be responsible for regulatory compliance for all window and doors products as it pertains to relevant building codes, customer requirements, and safety standards.</p> <p>Duties / Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Test, and certify new and existing window and door products, ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry standards. </li><li>Document and publish to LUX website technical data sheets and installation instructions for windows and doors. </li><li>Ensure new and existing products are fully certified under AAMA and NFRC through efforts with third-party regulatory bodies (ALI, NAMI) and are up to date and current on FGIA approved products website. </li><li>Facilitate prototype product development and laboratory testing of windows and doors. </li><li>Interpret test reports for Air, Water, & Structural performance as well as Thermal Performance. </li><li>Liaison with subject-matter experts on building codes & architectural techniques to interpret regulatory requirements and ensure customer & supplier compliance for building components. </li><li>Collaborate with plant-level production to integrate new materials and products into existing window and door production facilities. </li><li>Stays abreast with changes to regulatory and agency requirements, and recommend actions required to maintain compliance of active products. </li><li>Audit AAMA compliance at window and door facilities and then create & document corrective actions to remain compliant and current with requirements. </li><li>Assists the engineering department in resolving product issues or production difficulties. </li><li>Participates in compliance trade shows and conferences </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, or a related engineering field preferred or equivalent work experience will be considered. </li><li>Minimum 3-7 years' experience in a manufacturing and/or design environment. </li><li>Proven experience involved with design & compliance projects related to windows and doors. </li><li>In depth knowledge of building codes IBC, UBC, etc. </li><li>Knowledge of regional code demands - Fire, Wind load, sound transmittance, etc. </li><li>Ability to read structural and architectural plans/blueprints. </li><li>Strong understanding of architectural principles, window and door compliance, and fenestration systems. </li><li>Experience in assuring product compliance with regulatory requirements, and knowledge of product development and manufacturing. </li><li>Conveys information, including complex technical requirements in clear terms to people of various backgrounds. </li><li>Strong leadership skills, ability to educate and influence others. </li><li>Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills. </li><li>Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - frequent use of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. </li><li>Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift / carry up to 50 lbs. </li><li>Work conducted in a non-temperature-controlled environment and may be subject to extreme temperatures. </li><li>Ability to work on feet and/or sitting for hours at a time. </li></ul> <p>Travel Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Up to 75% dependent on project demands. </li><li>Flexibility to travel to test laboratories and manufacturing sites for windows and doors. </li></ul> <p>Why Clayton?</p> <ul> <li>Full-time team members have the flexibility to create their own health, dental, and vision benefits package.
