Leveraging deep engineering expertise and sharp project leadership, this individual explores, validates, and implements next-generation technologies that will power tomorrow's lighting solutions.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li> <p>Serve as the technical lead and mechanical engineering authority on mid-to-high complexity advanced technology development initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify, break down, and champion organizational capability building around emerging lighting technologies.</p> </li><li> <p>Apply expert knowledge of manufacturing and tooling processes to ensure part designs are production-ready and cost-effective.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate in the supplier selection process, providing critical input on qualification and risk.</p> </li><li> <p>Own and execute validation plans to assess feasibility and manufacturability of novel designs.</p> </li><li> <p>Review and refine part designs to ensure alignment with process capabilities and quality targets.</p> </li><li> <p>Define test strategies with minimal oversight, delivering insightful analysis that informs product direction.</p> </li><li> <p>Author detailed testing reports and lead internal lab evaluations independently.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct and interpret engineering analyses using tools such as:</p> </li><li> <p>Design of Experiments (DOE)</p> </li><li> <p>Statistical Data Analysis</p> </li><li> <p>Finite Element Analysis (FEA)</p> </li><li> <p>Lead and manage the Advanced Engineering mechanical team, balancing deliverables, priorities, and resource planning.</p> </li></ul> <p>What You Bring</p> <ul> <li>A curious, innovation-first mindset with a passion for problem-solving. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics (Master's preferred). </li><li>5+ years of product design experience in a fast-paced, engineering-driven environment. </li><li>Strong proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, or similar) and FEA software. </li><li>Proven ability to develop processes and evaluate design concepts analytically and statistically. </li><li>Robust mechanical intuition with a deep understanding of materials, properties, and manufacturing processes. </li><li>Experience with electromechanical systems and LED lighting technologies is a strong plus. </li><li>Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%. </li><li>A hands-on appreciation for tools of the construction trades is highly valued. </li></ul> <p>Milwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer.</p>
