This role conducts and directs inspections of food establishments, waste and sewage systems, and facilities such as schools, prisons, nursing homes, and daycares to ensure compliance with the State Sanitary Code. The position also manages complaint investigations, oversees program operations, and ensures accurate reporting of parish activities.</p> <p>Statewide fieldwork and frequent travel are essential components of this role. The Sanitarian 5 also supports emergency response efforts, works closely with public officials and community groups on environmental health issues, and maintains professional expertise through ongoing training.
